Excellent documentary. RT are clever not too one sided or preach too much. Too many people think RT is too pro Russian - thats surely why they hire so many western hosts and reporters? The comments below are just childish. Its a culture show this week on war museums. Its not a war or military series. I thought it was great. Fun Cold War Museum especially!

As even for the AK - what has it to do with education? I disagree, of course, that the "Russian arms are always the best", but it is obvious that we have very decent weapons, and some of them are definetly better than their American analogs.

Knowing about missiles, guns... A countries military arsenal or where or how said arms are manufactured has nothing to do with education. It's an optional thing to learn, I don't see your basis there.

I agree Russia has some very decent weapons, never said they didn't. I imagine some of them are better than American counterparts, and likewise the same goes for American arms, some of them are better than Russian.

That's just the way the cookie crumbles.

I managed to use a P90 though and it's just amazing. Perfect for urban combat and it looks awesome to boot.

So I'd choose P90 over any AK any day, and not just because it's American. :p

The P90 is an SMG. In this category it may seriously excel the AKS-74U, which is the most widespread Russian SMG now. Of course, there are other modern SMGs, but until nowadays they're either experimental (like "Vikhr" SMG) or very rare (like "Groza"). But afer all, SMGs cannot replace rifles. You noted very correctly that it is perfect *for urban combat*.

P.S.: And yes, P90 isn't American, this toy was designed in Belgium. ;)

jreed136, as for exactly the AK - the AK-74 was created in early 1970-s (basing on AK-47) and further modified in 1990-s (AK-74M). AKs may be not so accurate as M16, but their accuracy is more than enough for a real combat (where typical distance is 400 m or less). In the same time, AK-74M seriously excels M16 in both convenience and reliability in real combat circumstances. M-16 is a perfect weapon on a shooting range, but I never would trust my life to M16 in a real war.
