Just to clarify: The guy isn't wrong or anything, but his wording is really funny. He isn't saying that the speed you hit the cue ball is going to affect the angle of the object ball. He is trying to say that when using English, the speed you choose affects where the cue ball will hit the object ball. At faster speeds, the cue ball has less time to react to English, so it becomes more like a dead on shot.

Just thought I'd clarify since I misunderstood him in the beginning as well.

sure? even though i would say you could be right and mostly the contact point (influenced by speed and english) between cueball and objectball is relevant for where the objectball goes i think he is saying that the less hard you hit the cueball the less time it has to transfere its spin to the objectball. because in 0:42 he is saying that he (even though he playes soft) is hitting the point on the objectball where he aimed at.
