Hi, I have Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy tribe 3 and I can't figure out how to start up compiz. In synaptic it looks like i have all the compiz and fusion packages installed, but I don't know the shortcut keys, I can't find compiz in the menus, or the keys anywhere on the web. Can you help please?

Just write down at console "sudo compiz" :)

Dear God don't run compiz as sudo. WTH. Run "compiz --replace -c". If you have emerald installed as well, run "compiz --replace -c emerald". You can also add that to your startup in Preferences > Sessions.
