  • Clint Eastwood cries when he hears this song...

  • grrrrrrrrrr

  • my good i passs new year alone u.u hearing this song all night and drinking its just perfect

  • I love this-also love BJ Thomas singing his version

  • good sad song

  • Just doesn't matter who sings that song, it will be ALWAYS AWESOME!

  • Love Marty with all my heart, but the best ever version of this song is BJ Thomas's! Just saying...

  • @cyedrysek I agree . . . no one can sing it as good as BJ Thomas' original release. His original recording is awesome! The vocals are great and full of emotion as it is with most of his music.

  • Let's all be thankful that Tiny Tim didn't do a version of this classic!

  • I saw Hank in 1953 at the old ryman. Maybe he and marty are enteraining the angels.

  • @badeye41 Unless it was in the early morning hours of New Year's Day, you did not see Hank at the Ryman, or anyplace else, in 1953.

  • I am nothing without you!

  • the version of Dean Martin is the best

  • There was a guy on a soap named Jack Snyder, he sang this song on a train, I never hears a better version of this song ever, by any artist in the world. I taped the soap, and as luck would have it my WONDERFUL husband taped over it. That was five yrs. ago. I still cry over losing that by Michael Park or Parks . but I still cry over it . Anyone who can help me get a copy ,I would be eternally greatful. Thanks Betty

  • @blueeyedbets1 MICHAEL PARKS - LONG LONESOME HIGHWAY

  • Ain't got nothin on hanks version

  • one of best behind hank sr,Hank owns this song,Not hank but still a good cover.Get real people,I know this is hallowed ground,so I,ll be nice to ya.The tone quality of Hank sr could NEVER EVER Compare to Marty ROBBINS.Marty is a country Mile ahead thats a fact, since ya VEXX already, may as well tell ya the rest.still on TQ TheresThe HAGG,REEVES,PRICE,GIBSON,JONES,FARON WATSON.AH Better stop,Before ya git ART ATTACK.

  • My favorite country song fro my favorite country singer...life is good =oD

  • Hank Sr owns it of course, but I like this rendition of the song.

  • He was always my Dad's fave too and I grew up listening to Mary Robbins. Nobody else compares to him!

  • Not Hank Sr. but still a great cover from a great singer.

  • good to hear this one. I only ever remeber the Hank Williams version, which is very plaintive and haunting- But- being a Martry Robbins fan it was great to hear this version for the first time. Many thanks .Jim.

  • THESE CLASSICS NEVER GET OLD

  • I know how you fell Marty

  • I`ve always loved Marty Robbins.

  • We all have been there Marty ,Thanks mate

  • A great country singer! we don't get this type of talent anymore in country music.

  • BJ for me

  • I saw him race NASCAR at Michigan Speedway. Great voice too.

  • He had the purest voice during that time of great singers. Love this version.

  • @19thcentury Marty had the 2nd purest voice during that era because Merle Haggard not only sung better than anyone, including Lefty Frizzel (whom he sounded like), but the Hag could do an impeccable vocal impression of Marty Robbins that even shocked Marty. The Hag was and is, the BEST!

  • Not bad! But i prefer B.J.Thomas singing this beautiful song.

  • Golden Oldie

    Thanks

  • what more to feel....better than Elvis

  • Maerty Robbins is the King!

  • Good night all it's time for bed

  • One of the best I heard...... Behind Hank Sr, of course.

  • @LDis1 I agree, I heard Ole Hanks version a couple of nights ago and got cold chills

  • Great song

  • I grew up listening to my parents play his music.. a beautiful voice and all his songs tell a story. I cry everytime I hear the song "my woman my wife"...so heartfelt...like so many of his songs..

  • I saw Marty at the Grand Ole Opry at the Ryman Theater, before they opened Opryland and he put on a great show. He wasn't very tall but he had a big voice. I wish we had singers and writers around like we had then. He was my favorite.

  • elvis said this was the saddest song he ever heard,,,

  • does elvis cover this? hmm ill go see

  • did u see it ? not bad eh..

  • Damn fine version i reckon.

  • this is a beautiful tune

  • One of the great singer/performers of our time. He was my Dad's fave and now one of mine. A great man, great voice, and great presence.

  • yes all awesome but I still love it sung by my fav, Hank Williams and Jr love it love it love it,but wait,my daddy sang it best ^__^

  • This is a good version, but no one has ever done this song like Mr Jerry Lee Lewis.

  • ? ?

  • hah theres no comparison between the 2. U take the marty ticket i'd be glad to take the hank sr.

  • Hank is best but BJ Thomas also did a good job with this one.

  • I don't think there's any doubt that Hank did this better, but that doesn't take away from how great of a cover this is. I don't know about anyone else, but I can just feel the sadness!

  • Well, nobody is gonna sing a Hank song better than Hank still this is a great cover.

  • I luv Marty, Great Song well sung by him.

Thanks for sharing 5 Stars *****

  • Not one of Marty's best covers. HW did it much better.

  • hank williams done it better

  • So good!

  • This is a good example of his reputation for having a teardrop in his voice. Love it!

  • If I could buy a ticket for any show even for folks who have passed, I would buy a ticket to see Marty Robbins. No matter the price.

  • I think that between a Hank ticket or a Marty ticket, I would flip a coin.

  • gotta love the little yodel on "lonesome."

  • Marty's version with his typical voice

    is pretty good !

Very Memorable & Valuable Collection !

  • I LOVE Marty, but you have to listen to BJ Thomas' version of this song. It is so amazing. I get teary-eyed when I hear it.

  • BJ suks... sounds like a jerk

  • Best cover of this song I've ever heard. He is so talented!

  • The voice that was natural for Marty, that so many envied... Roger Miller said, " The most beautiful voice country music has ever heard."

  • Marty Robbins has such a comforting voice. like a big blanket

  • I couldn't have said it better myself!

  • Beautiful. I love the little yodel on "lonesome." Very touching.

  • Marty was a trend setter for country music

and covered Hanks song like it was meant

    for him to sing.

  • Marty Robbins did great with this Hank Williams Classic:)
