You had me going when I first saw MLK and John Lennon, arguably the closest thing we've ever seen to actual saints and heroes for all of humanity.
Please, remake this, and extract any and all mentions of that vile miscreant from New York who skillfully exploited the tragedy of 9/11 to line his own pockets and engender hatred and fear for political gain.
I won't even mention this disgusting person's name. But he sullies this entire video. Please remove the little creep. He's sickening.
Dare to imagine; Dare to Dream! I have a dream, that all of the protesters in the Occupy movements accross the country will each pull out one symbolic weed for expressing the global desire to root out greed, exploitation, and hatred. I have a dream that the President will has every child in the world to do the same thing....the ultimate act of peaceful spiritual guerilla gardening!!!!
Deeply inspired by the rhetoric of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., I became inspired to come up a practical method for bridging the gap between the Dream and Imagine. It is called: Occupy the Dream: Weed Out Hate. The idea is very simple. In the same way you weed a garden to make room for sowing sunflower seeds, get children and adults to use this symbolism to pray to root out out their inner weeds. Freed from this negativity, you are free to sow the seeds of peace and love.
People are always criticizing Obama, saying all he does is talk and talk about hope, and change... well that's what these people do. They talk, and they inspire us all. They bring out the good in us. They make the world a better place through their speeches.
but these people werent running for the most imporant job in the world (except giuliani, but he lost). no1 disagrees that obama wouldnt inspire the country, but we are not picking an american idol, we need someone who has the experience to make the right decisions whether they are easy or not,
McCain meant 100 years if thats what was needed to keep peace like in Korea. He didnt mean 100 years of war. McCain wants peace in Iraq and Afghanistan, Obama wants war in Pakistan.
Ron, this is so beautiful!!! will you marry me? :D you are so awesome! this combines one of my favorite songs (and songwriters) and one of my favorite people, in a wonderful and emotional way! You are so true...I think that is the key to your success and popularity on here...people respond to that...you are gonna make it big, and soon!
dgivy. Yes I will. I'm ready. I do love this piece as well. Very emotional and paying honor to one of my favorite all time people MLK Jr. Thanks so much dgivy, you are the cat's meow!
The best religion is the one where we take care of each other, don't judge, and believe in the power of our lives, not trampling each other for foolish endeavors... I live ten blocks from The King Center in Atlanta, just down the street from the Jimmy Carter Library & Center. We even have the Dali Lama as a visiting professor at Emory 1/2 mile from here. Amazing people here are doing amazing things to change the future of this planet. A neo-con would turn to stone in my neighborhood, & I <3 it
This video is really touching. People need to watch this and realise what's going on in this world today. People need to stop worrying about what religion somebody is, what race somebody is, what sex somebody is, It's messed up how people judge one another. Sometimes i wish there wasn't a religion so this world would be much more peaceful.
its about time that wat MLK n John Lennon sed n sung about came true, this world needs to b changed around b4 its 2 late. R.I.P MLK n John Lennon hu were both assassinated
thank you for making that. it gave me goose bumps. dont let anyone stop you. gandhi said there were many causes to die for, but none to kill for. spread the love my brothers and sisters
This video was very well put together, but I just wish you hadn't included Rudy Guliani. Many of those firefighters died due to the fact that they didn't have working radios to actively communicate with one another in our time of crisis.
I know, but it was more what he said than including his actual voice which was more important to me. I'm not making him out to be a peacemaker, but rather what he said about the fireman's state of mind I liked.
This is actually a mismatch. MLK was a Christian preacher promoting the American dream and John Lennon was an atheist who was trying to eliminate religion by writing this song. People are blinded by the sugar coating of this song and don't realize that this song promotes Communism and Atheism.
I really got attached to MLK in college. I thought what he fought for and his speeches reflected a powerful struggle towards fairness and right and was so moved. Of course the Lennon song is classic and i liked the part where Lennon says, "i'm a dreamer" and Martin says "I still have a dream" Imagine the perfect world.
Thanks so much for this video as I was a fan of John Lennon and Martin was a man we won't see much of in a long time. Don't let those people get you down who speak ill of the dead, they are Republicans, what can you expect.
I can only hope that the day will come for us as the human race that we can all join hands and sing "thank God almighty, free at last" regardless of who we are. When will people realize that we are all HUMAN, not a color, religion, political party or bank account? I feel so discouraged for us sometimes, but I also "still have a dream". Keep on keepin' on, Ron Barba.
Listen to Lennon's Imagine while at the same time listening to OSHO's discourse "What is the Need of Nations?" OSHO is the true inspiration of the inner peace, fearlessness, sanity, and Bliss out of which John Lennon's music was born. Lennon stated publicly that he wanted to meet OSHO but was murdered before he got the chance to...
collin powell? Ha, I didn't know the secretary of state that thrusted us into Iraq, is one to be honored for peace and justice alongside Dr. MLK or Lenon.
I'm glad you understood my point. MLK was an amazing man, someone I wish we still had today. What made him stand out was not the fact that he was a black man, but rather a humanitarian. An ambasador for peace. He fought for the poor of America, and he fought against Vietnam. Unfortunately for us, MLK, JFK, RFK, and Lenon were all assassinated. All great Americans who fought with the same goal in mind.
I know. I guess all the great people who seek the ultimate truth and try to guide us towards it are cut down by ignorance, fear and hatred. Thanks for the dialogue. Let freedom ring!

Cowardice asks the question: 'Is it safe?'
Expediency asks the question: 'Is it politic?'
Vanity asks the question: 'Is it popular?'
And there comes a point when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular...
But one MUST take it, because
one's conscience tells one that 'it is right' Martin Luther King Jr.
