midland area champ in his younger days , he just always fought on any card to give some up and comer a decent workout , but not to good or they woudnt book him again would they. peter always credits boxing 4 keeping him out of jail and giving his family a few luxuries . like was mentioned give him an mbe 4 services 2 boxing, not some champ who got lead down the frank warren path to a big unbeaten record. pete never had acamp in tenerife

We need to be honest here- Buckley is a great guy, but he has made his living by being a reliable opponent- had he won more, he may well have had a lot less bookings.

Its crazy- a prospect will fight a journeyman, and 10 months later the journeyman will have had 15 more fights, the prospect just 1 or 2!

Ok, that key role is turning up to lose against home fighters, but it is a key role none the less.
