  • @TheFishKeeper100

u see dude the paroons grow rapidly or slowly according to the

feeding if u feed live food they grow quickly but if u give pellets bloodworms aand all that u can have ur paroon in a 30 gallon for about 3 months

and if u dont know yet piranhas and paroons dont go on well

  • are these fresh water?

  • there is a white spot on top of the head of my paroon shark. i am wondering if anyone can educate me about that. is it a disease? If so, can anyone tell me what it is and how do I cure it.. txs.. Nice tank!!

  • where did you get your shark

  • How many liters is this tank mate?

  • I own 2, 3yrs old 33", 1yr old 15", the big one eat one jumbo rat every 3 days

  • paroon sharks are critically endangered

  • no, you are probably mixing it up with the pangasius gigas, a bigger species

  • No, that was endangered to, but the IUCN said paroon shark, I know weird, I was just looking at their website and this guy popped up picture and everything, you should check it out.

  • @andripogo how much do these things cost?

  • @PresentAssassin Paroons cost around 50$ here in Iceland

  • @PresentAssassin

i suggest you buy them from a young age which in euros they are around 15-20 euros... that being A grade paroons.

  • i can get you a paroon shark ,thas only if you live out here in los angeles

  • were can i get one and can it live in a 12 gallon tank can u pm me back thank you

  • no they get a bit to big unless its only in there for a month or so but these guys need 800+ gallons

  • i have 2 questions,,,

1.how big is the paroon shark

    ,and;

    2.how big is the tank

  • thats an old video, dont remember how big it was then, probably around 8-10".

Today its 13-14" and the tank is 200G, 7x2x2 feet

  • if you are talking about the Bala shark, yes it can

  • dude i have the exact same fish as you but mine are miniscule ROFL

  • japp ich hab auch einen aus dem handel alter

  • how big is the tank?

    please answer

  • 720L/200G. 7x2x2feet

  • zkiller142 read it again stupid. is it stated there that ALL SHARKS are catfishes? i was talking about the video sharks with "PAROON SHARK" as the title. look whos the dumbass now

  • where can i buy one of these all i can find is balas and blue sharks

  • theyre legal in every place -.- theyre just catfishes

  • okay okay aesir so all sharks are catfish?

then how the hell is a megalodon a catfish its bigger then a bus -.- dumbass!@#$

  • where can i get a paroon shark

  • is it possile to keep 2 angelfish in a bottle of water next to a radiator - heard this would be ok.

  • if i join a paroon shark and a ID shark on a tank will the paroon eat the ID?

  • maybe, maybe not. the paroon grows faster, but eventually gets bigger...I wouldnt be that worried but ive seen it happen, probably where size difference was too much

  • I think it wont eat the ID the ID is a non agressive fish and the paroon too

  • Well... I've had a leperonis (dont know exactly how to spell) eat oscars..

  • Thanks andripogo, hey can you feed Pangasius live feeder minnows or ghost shrimp?

  • sure, mine doesnt eat feeders though and never has.

  • Is a Pangasius like an ID shark? If so can you feed it live small feeder minnows?

  • An ID shark is in the Pangasius family and so is the Paroon shark, but they are not the same fish,

    ID shark: Pangasius hypothalamus

    Paroon shark: Pnagasius sanitwongsei

  • are paroon sharks legal in the U.S? and if so what do you feed them?

  • i like you gold fojo loach how long is he

  • no loaches there...

  • I think its a ropefish

  • yes its a ropefish, this 12addictedfish kept sending me mails trying to convince me its loach! haha :)

  • cant really tell that its actually a catfish

  • my baby paroon is not eating...what should i do?

  • what do you feed?? a Live fish or Pellet?

  • nice paroon shark.... but what do you feed them?:-/

  • I think its fresh water and could i put it in a 10 gallong tank? or is that to small?? Please respond as soon as you can.

    Thanks

  • yes they are freshwater and no you can absolutly not keep it in a 10G.

I have been keeping mine in a 200G for around 2 years and that will be too small in a few years, considering the slow growth rate of my Paroon. Normally they would outgrow a 200G much faster.

  • paroon sharks get in the wild about 9 ft but i hear that if you have a smaller tank itll stop growing not recommended but ya i got a 90 gallon tank and i only plan to raise them alil while then switch to smaller 1s again cause i dont really have the room for like a 900 gallon tank =D

  • wat water are they?

  • It is a dragon fish and rope fish both fish eaters

  • are they dojo loaches in the background?

i thought they where cold water fish

  • no those are ropefish

  • why don't you get a normal one like senegal bichir or albino bichir much better than rope fish :>

  • i have around 30 polypterus

  • what fish is that at the 28 sec top left hand corner?

  • Senegalus

  • thanks

  • were are they orrigionally from?

  • thailand

  • are paroons illegal in PA?

  • have no idea

  • awesome ropefish

  • sorry to say but a paroon shark really is a catfish...they are gr8 to feed though. arowanas are the best fish/pet ever!!

  • that is a really nice arowana

  • whats the difference betwen an iridscent shark and a paroon shark? do they both have the same agression

  • as far as i know same fish dif name

  • not the same fish.

    id is: pangasius hypothalamus

    parron is: pangasius sanitwongsei

  • well i know for sure i have the id but it wont eat feeder fish, does the id and the paroon have the same agression? plz help me out

  • i would say the paroon´s are more aggressive, their diet is similar though but im not surprised that the ID doesnt eat feeders. My Paroon doesnt even eat feeders...

  • really eh.. thts kinda boring cause i bought mine thinking that it would be a monster.. where do you get a paroon shark anyways, cause the id shark you can just get at petsmart...

  • wait till your id grow big enough....he'll eat anything u feed him. sometimes ids and paroons eat each other. its jus how they feel :P

  • i just wanted to know cause i think i have it is it the senegal bichir? how many gallons is ur tank?

  • i live in california and i want piranhas realy bad but there ilegal in california

  • what is that eel-like fish called at 0:02 behind the shark?

  • thats a ropefish - Erpetoichthys calabaricus

  • how big do parroon sharks get? and will one be alright in a 55

  • In the wild they CAN reach 8feet, but its rare. 4-6feet is more common...

in aquariums they usually dont get over 3-4feet, and thats because the tanks are too small...

My 200G is not even close to being big enough for life but should be enough for a few more years. So a 55 is a no :)

  • that thing doesnt even look like a shark lol (go fishing a catch a real shark to put in there haha

  • the "Paroon Shark" is its common name, not made up by myself :)

I only keep freshwater fish so a real shark is not something i can have at the moment but would be nice to try in the future.

  • nice, how big is ur tank? u sed that no fish r illegal wer u liv, im my country there r loads of illegal fish u cant hav in most states (like snakeheads and piranhas), i live in the US, wer do u liv?

  • i live in Iceland, the main reason why no fish is illegal here is because few if any tropical fish can survive the winters here if released into the wild.

    The tank is 720L/200G. 7x2x2feet

  • the only state that i know of where pirahas are legal is colorado where i live you just have to get them in a specialy store not a petsmart.

  • wer i live, KY, USA, piranhas r completely illegal, along wit about 25 other states

  • go to a state where it is leagal get one and take it home. there are no customs on state boarders so they wont mind as long as you dont set if free.

  • actually, importation is also illegal, on ebay, ther was a piranha was on sale and u cudnt bid if u wer in 1 of the states its illegal in, cyberpolice catch piranha trades online all the time, evry1 hus cot is fined and the piranha(s) are confiscated. I wud luv 2 own 1, but i cant.

  • i am not saying to get one online get one in a walk in store i can give you the names of some stores that sell them in denver if you are ever here.

  • oh, reely? wel, if i ever visit denver, il be sure to call on u ;). thanks fr the info.

  • no problem

  • haha i just found a guy that bought them legaly and sold 3 to me and my freind but my freind got to keep them :(

  • wat state ,and if in KY, wat city? not trying to be intrusive, but i really want piranhas wer i liv, like ur prolly going to get away wit ppl who say they have 'legal merchandise' thats actually illegal in smaller country-side towns as compared to metropolis cities. thx

  • a i live in north carolina

  • I've never heard of pirahnas being illegal at all i'm in california and alot of stores sell them.

  • go research before u make dumbass coments like that, naw duh it's not a shark, u reely think u can contain a shark in a home aquarium without spending tens of thousands? the paroon shark is a catfish, it's known to be reffered to as a freshwater shark because it behaves just like one, plus, true sharks cant live in freshwater. So before u make comments, make sure u no wat ur toking about. His paroon shark is a very good example of it's kind, good job andripogo.

  • is it my fault u make retarded comments? no, its urs, u think ur so smart wile making retarded comments, go figure.

  • hey i was trying to purchase a paroon shark an the pet store man told me they are seasonal so do u have any idea when u can get them

  • no sorry i have never heard that.

  • arnt they like ilegal now becausae you cant import them?

  • well actually no fish is illegal in my country but i know what you are talking about.

No it is the bigger pangasius species the Gigas (Giant Mekong catfish) that is illegal to export from Thailand since they are running very low in the wild.

This one, the Paroon is still legal and kicking :)

  • my id sharks ate 7 feeder in 2 days now the past 2 weeks they havent eaten the feeders but there eating the blood worms E.T.C is that normal

  • Very nice tank. I think your paroon though is on the thin side. As they grow older paroon will develop its diet preference. A paroon used to being fed with pellets or dried worm will do well and will remain healthy given the same diet growing up. A paroon used to being fed live food and given dried food will look skinny and will only feed only because it is too hungry and not really enjoying its food. I have one that is now 26 inches. unfortunately, mine is the one that is used to live food.

  • yeah he is pretty skinny in this video, he looks much better now.

Newer eats live food, only shrimps and various pellets.

  • how much are they..can they adapt to fresh water..im dumb

  • they are not true sharks, they are 100% freshwater catfish.

  • I was planning on getting one of these but a 1000 gallon tank is massive, I just started in the fish world aswell got any suggestions on something similar but not such a large tank?

  • the smaller pangasius species, pangasius hypothalamus / ID sharks dont get so huge, and dont need as big tanks. But they get pretty big though.

  • go for the 55 (starter kit), way cheaper than any bigger tank, and for only $165 for evrything u need-filter, heater-evrything but gravel, or u cud go for the 125, but all the bigger tanks are usually custom and very expensive

  • Your going to need tank about 1000gallons to house that monster when it gets older!

  • are paroon sharks cousins of Id sharks?

  • yes they are both in the Pangasiidae family. genus: Pangasius

  • what are those other fish in the background.. like those big eels and the eel fish

  • The bigger ones are various species of Polypterus, commenly known as Bichirs in English, the slimmer ones are Ropefish, from the same family.

  • r paroon sharks salt water fish

  • No they are freshwater fish, and they are not true sharks. They are catfish but get their common name from their shark-like appearance.

  • can u put that in a 46

  • no it will outgrow my 200g in a few years. They get very big.

  • Well u can put theme in 46galons, they wont grow more than the tank size, but it is realy not good for the fish, she has to slow her grow rate...imagine u have to stay all your live im your moms bely :P

Fishes don't just stop growing if they are limited buy space, they just slow their grow rate and it is really most grouse thing u can do to a fish...

  • nice how big is the shark

  • Thanks, its ~10" / 25cm.
