  • you sir are so lucky that you got to meet him:)

  • I first saw Tommy YT..... Thank goodness for the Internet.....! He`s Outstanding.

  • at 4:11 you can see just what a nice person tommy is.

  • Hey Siggi ;)

Lass uns mal zusammen Gitarre spielen ;) Ich komme aus Deiner Gegend ;)

Wie findest du meinen Song "Midnight Brainwave" ?

Tommy ist super. Coole Songs hast du in deinem Profil. I love it ;)

  • OH MAAN siggi knows tommy emmanuel!!!

  • He's such a lovable guy!

  • so...is that why guitar boogie is called the youtube song? sweet

  • wow, he is so inspiring

  • Glad that TE appreciates how youtube has helped his rise to prominence. He's so humble and full of life.

  • I'm impressed that Tommy realizes the importance of YT getting him out there. I've been so enthused that I own a half dozen of his CDs and his UpClose DVD. I've never even heard him on the radio. Without YT I would not have known about him at all. James Taylor is also open to being photographed and filmed. I guess when you're great you're not afraid of exposure. They're both smart men.

  • Siggi,

Interesting your comment about Chet's music being a little boring, please everyone do not flame me for this, this is just an observation that I share with Siggi. But that's what I felt too when I heard Chet's music, interesting but does not hold me captive, but when I heard TE, I was like WOW! And then I heard TE saying that he is influenced a lot by Chet's style. So perhaps I should listen to my old Chet's CDs again.

  • You must remember the generation gap between Chet and Tommy, Chet WAS the Tommy in his era. We can all learn alot from Chet about the subtlties where it counts.

  • I agree with you on that point. I guess the level of sophisication ( is that how you spell it?) has increased in TE playing as compared to Chet.

Have you listened to Adam Rafferty's Superstition, it is mind boggling how he can bring the big sound into the guitar. There is another version by Peter Huttlinger, has very intricate fretworks, but somehow it does not grab you as it does Adam's. What Tommy brings to the guitar is the big sound, that's why it is so captivating.

  • he didn't say tommy was boring he said chet was boring.... dumb ass

  • Excellent interview Siggi. Good relevant questions. This just shows you how youtube has helped even the best in the world. A great oppertuinity lets not waste it. Play your own material and be proud of it.

  • Excellent SIggi!! Tommy seems like a great guy.

  • Yes, Gigan, no stiff upper lip!

  • Wow, you got to speak with the one and only Tommy Emmanuel. I was at his concert 1 year ago and it was absolutely astonishing. Thank you for this interview Siggi!

  • Congrats Siggi. You deserved this.

  • This chat made me look and hear the clips of Tommy. From now on I think that I'll put all my guitars for sale on ebay. It is so incredible what he can do, and how he can express what he is feeling. Makes me very humble. And Siggi, for me, you have made guitar playing new again. You make it a nice challenge. To my experience you are like a coach for many people and I thank you for that. Succes!

  • Perfekt talk, makes me more groovin.....gy

  • Klasse Interview, Siggi! Beneidenswert. Ich bin seit zwei Jahren komplett TE verrückt.

Wäre auch gern nach Rietberg gefahren...vielleicht nächstes Jahr. :)

  • Grats Siggi, you finally got to meet your hero! :D

  • Wow! insightful and inspiring interview!

    Weiter so!!!!

  • Great video!

  • Wow, wie schaffst du es mit all diesen Berühmtheiten interviews zu führen ? Das letzte mit Martin Barre fand ich schon toll.
