Hello, I have the same thing, could you help me program a trunked frequency. I am trying to program an LTR ID of 05-05-61. It's Windsor CT Police. I know it isn't digital and I live close to the station, so I don't think reception is a problem. The directions are pretty hard to follow and radio shack employees know less about the thing than I do. I have learned so far that you press, PROG, T, then select the mode which is LTR. I type in the code and press enter. Am I doing it right? Thanks :)
last night i just heard an officer say someone screaming at a haunted house they said it was a prank this was my cousins police scanner they are fun to use listend to for about two hours
Unfortunately (well for me at least) in OP KS, I can't seem to pick up police frequencies like I used to. It seems most of the firefighters, cops, and other important services have moved up into the ghz as well, or put their signals through strange processing that makes them unintelligible on most scanners.
I remember back in the day (early 90's) you used to be able to pick up cell-phone frequencies between 900 and 915 mhz on scanners like that. They started making scanners that blocked out those frequencies, and then later on as cell phone technology got better, they were pushed up into the ghz.
In Florida it is illegal to have a police scanner in the car or truck with you unless if you are a county or state gov. So i am a firefighter so I get to carry my scanner with me. But I can only scan my county.
i was listening to my policescanner one day when i just got home. the police on the radio reported a man threaten a worker next door with a shotgun just because the guy wouldnt stop working.
in most states it is illegal to have a police scanner on while traveling in a vehicle and sometimes its a felony to use a scanner in while committing a crime
What county was this?
