  • @sgtfrankieboy (comment lost?): Terrain is built statically from a 16bit monochannel heightmap. It can be manually altered after, with the lift-up tool.

  • @kaleri The people at bungie apparently use 3dsmax to make their levels.

    Which is a very very long process compared to some engine's built in building tools.

  • It`s great, the editor seems too solid and functional. The water looks great. Im trying to do something like that, but first I got to know how to work with XNA.

I also know MAYA... im pretty good at that too.... but the thing is.. when u are making games for XNA.. u build engines like this to make games?... like Make ur own terrain edditor? and other editors for ur own game?.. i mean is that how everyone does it?

  • You can build your own engine and tools to make your games or you can use other engines that are open source or require the purchase of a license.

    Out team has been studying game programming for quite a while, and has some previous experiences with smaller projects or experiments, before XNA.

I was wondering if i should purchase this, the only experience i have is Fighter maker for the ps2. with that being said, what classes can i take in college to help me play,create things. I'm not wanting to go into game design, but sure would be fun to play god, you know. any ideas on a class ? verylimited computer exp here.
