same thing in a nissan gtr. a manual would be wrong in the car. same goes for the mitsubishi evo, the double clutch makes most sense.

I sell BMW's and I understand why people "Perfer" sportshift. Most women, elderly, people who drive in heavy traffic and people with bad knees love the automatic transmissions. Been to any racing tracks like Laguna Secca or even where these cars are born in Germany? What do you think those people like to drive and race? How about people who buy a Porsche 911 Turbo or a Ferrari? Do you think 80% of those people also buy automatic cause they perfer automatic.
I have the 335i Vert, and I must say, I like the steering wheel MUCH better in the 4 Door. I drove the 4 door a few times. The leather wheel is nicer and I don't like the thickness of the coupe/vert wheel.

Auto is better for racing?? Automatics dont know per say throttle input during downshifting which creates lag. (different from turbo-lag, which thanks to the twins, the 335 basically doesnt even experience..)
The vulnerability of this downshift-lag would be apparent on a race track. So yeah, autos are for girls or people who enjoy flooring it from intersection to intersection. Anyone who appreciates racing will find themself sitting next to a manual gearbox ANYDAY.

Yes, we sure mustn´t forget the 400 Nms of torque. Actually the 400 Nm dont say much, but it suggests that this torque is high at low revs and this means that you get a steep power figure, which is that nice kick in the back feeling, hehe.
Unfortunately that´s not entirely true. The torque numbers are only telling something about the engine. With acceleration you have to look at gear and differential ratios and eventually you get to HP: torque at the wheels (sort of). So both acceleration and top speed are dependable on hp (among other things, of course).
u know i wrote tht cuz iv seen the audi R8 V12 its 1000 N.m & 526 i cant remember..so it get's in 100 in 2.3 sec.. only it's faster than the bugatti fo sure but top speed not like the bugatti (405km/h)..cuz its all of aluminum and has very high torque cuz of its diesel..but low BHP so no high top speed..

The vulnerability of this downshift-lag would be apparent on a race track. So yeah, autos are for girls or people who enjoy flooring it from intersection to intersection. Anyone who appreciates racing will find themself sitting next to a manual gearbox ANYDAY.

BTW FYI, BMW's have throttle matching on downshifts, so they DO know "throttle input" during downshifts, in fact there really arent many automatics still made that dont do that.
And although I was talking about drag racing where automatics would be better, I wanna see you out shift many of the automatics made these days on a road course.

You speak so juvenile about your fascination with automatics, its not even worth it to explain the advantages of a manual transmission for racing (or something similar to the m double-clutch tranny).. stick to your automatic, loser..

I live right off forest ave on karen lane. i always fly through with my M5. but theres a lot of cops that hide after the stoplight by ackerman fuck them BMW is the best car ever built the ultimate driving machine. mercedes sucks!!!!1 if u want a nice 1/2 mile drag strip go to woodcliff lake behind the mall/shopping centre no cops go there at all i flew over there!

I have an 07' 335 with an auto and its not as fun as a manual but the car mags say the auto is faster than the manual, its that good.
Bottom line, one of the best cars ever built.
I've owned lots of foreign and domestic cars, american muscle, even a Ferrari 328, for the money this car is something special.

I know it has one of the best automatic transmissions out there, but 3 series and automatic just doesn't fit.
If I want an automatic transmission I go for the 5 series, if I want a nible sporty car I take the 3 series with manual transmission.
However check out the new automatic transmission with double clutch function in the new E92 M3. That is a blast...

Yes, we sure mustn´t forget the 400 Nms of torque. Actually the 400 Nm dont say much, but it suggests that this torque is high at low revs and this means that you get a steep power figure, which is that nice kick in the back feeling, hehe.

Unfortunately that´s not entirely true. The torque numbers are only telling something about the engine. With acceleration you have to look at gear and differential ratios and eventually you get to HP: torque at the wheels (sort of). So both acceleration and top speed are dependable on hp (among other things, of course).

u know i wrote tht cuz iv seen the audi R8 V12 its 1000 N.m & 526 i cant remember..so it get's in 100 in 2.3 sec.. only it's faster than the bugatti fo sure but top speed not like the bugatti (405km/h)..cuz its all of aluminum and has very high torque cuz of its diesel..but low BHP so no high top speed..
