  • i'm american but the spirit within takes me when i hear some drums and pipes.

  • makes me feel amazing, and proud to me scottish!! so get it up yea,xx

  • i dont give a shit about youre comments!! the fact is the song, and its brilliant eats you to the heart, and makes you feel good, thats ok in my book, love this tune, xxxxxxxx well done,xx

  • Love, love, love these guys! They look like they're having a good old time..

  • Umm. Fix yer pipes lad. The screechin' is terrible.

  • This is awesome! Love the drums and the soul!

  • @kingdomofdalriada I like your comment. You're ignorant :)

  • its still ghostly beautiful. hate on hater.

  • james black douglas did more than wallace an bruce but he not get the tit5le

  • a home a home

  • One of the major signs of a living culture or language, is that it is still evolving and incorporating present day ideas. This band as well as others, are proof that Celtic culture is not dead.

  • Who cares if this is not traditional pipe and drum music, dose all Scottish music have to be traditional? Hell, I make metal versions of Scottish songs and I don't wear a kilt or anything like that while doing it. I love Scotland and it's history and I love music, and enjoy crossing the two, I can imagine it's a similar thing for these guys. Runrig or the Corries don't do traditional native music (well some of the Corries is) They still play good music and that's what it's all about for me.

  • a drum can be anything a pot hollow trunk your head scotts improvized that how we the ancesters kicked english ass but were ratted out or false truces english lies and they still survived the crap thrown thier way

  • pipe an drum is what yuo feel in side thats how sound is made feeling history ancestors etc dont no why a holes bad comment on what thaay dont now get a life

  • Classy piece here! It would be a neat experiment to see whether the drum parts would translate to a full set of Coopermans: 16"x16" snares, 18"x20" tenors and 22"x24" bass.

  • it does not matter if this does or does not not replicate anything, just enjoy/or not for what it is..people playing their instrumets for the enjoyment of other people...

  • Listen to all clamerin like a bunch of sheep nit pickin this and that where's your love of home enjoy what you can while you can for there is an end and all you have is what you have in your heart . Peace be with you and play on feel the rythum and joy of sound.

  • well I'd say they beat the 'Morris dancers' hands

down, I'd rather have a REAL man personally.

  • @kingdomofdalriada you cunt

  • @ClTIZEN OH YES

? IS A USEFUL THING, BUT NOT TO BE F*****D ABOUT WITH!!

  • Proud that I am Alban (Scot) by heritage even though the family have been living in exile for 255 years. Buchanan/MacKenzie

  • tighten yer chanter

  • EVOLVE

  • Kingdomofdalriada was right. Repetitive beats and completely unhistorical. Nothing to do with Scottish or Gaeilc tradition or history other than the name and the feile-mors, and even that is a construct. That said, "de gustabus non disputandum est" - or in more modern terms, whatever blows your kilt up.

  • proud i'm a exiled Scot , never to return , a MacBain , nice

  • @24Tramp Is there so much shame in the families, that we have to hide from?

You talk about 'clothing' Look at all the 'clothing' in the 'HOUSE OF LORDS' do you complain about this luxurios living? I think it's disgusting we still live in the 1200's, let alone the 21st Century..dont you realise your ancsester's fought for you to be here?, yet you turn to the other side. That's what they made people do, Look up your history, & if that doesn't work, then I'm afraid there's no hope.

  • If that doesnt make your heart beat faster, youre dead already.

  • Proud that I"m a SCOT !!!

  • Scottish born and bred and PROUD OF IT!!!!

  • noossa, muito foda!

  • @kingdomofdalriada And now they do. u mad, bro?

  • Alba gu brath!! I am no Scot, but I love the country, the people, the nature, and, of course - uisge beatha.

  • Do you see how silly that man outfitted in a "scottish" garb, in the background, looks confronted with the "clan?" I damn the brittish for trying to change the world to suit themselves. Scotland forever!

  • @jggrow Yes, heis in Victorian Highland Dress. The Clann clothing style is fromabout 700 years prior to that. No one is trying to change anything !!!!!! Also, Scots are British, whether they like it or not. I am Scottish by the way.

  • They are fucking glorious.

  • @kingdomofdalriada go take your hatred of a great bunch of guys and women somewhere else, i've met these guys and they are fantastic and do not profess to be anything other than Celts, what is your problem?

  • @kingdomofdalriada Really? I guess the 100's of Scottish pipe and drum corps around the world all have it wrong too then.

  • God I LOVE being Scottish :)

  • @kingdomofdalriada Wtf are you on? Gaels have always had a fascination for drums and pipes, we've worn variations on plaid and leather since we arrived in Erinn, much less Alba, and the short plaid has been worn since the Gàidheal and the Norse started to mix. The Clann aren't 'inventing' anything, they're playing spirited, drum based music to an appreciative audience. So they're proud of their Scottish roots, that's hardly a crime, is it? RIP, Mac. You're sorely missed.

  • the one on the right side..IS THE KING!!!auahauahuaauh awesome

  • Comment removed

  • these guys are so good...saw them in fife, just outstanding. thx for posting -they re great

  • Our culture does not have to be an exact recreation of the past. Why would we want it to be.? The theme, the spirit will always be with us and it will be heard in our music, our voices and seen in our courage and love of Scotland.

  • @kingdomofdalriada If every celtic band confromed to the historical accuracies and such there would be no creatvity and if you follow the the belief and proven fact that the norse where in scotland then the dress is similar and the use of drums would be present considering the fact that the progeneorator(spell fail I understand) was a half norse scot named somerled.

  • The spirit of the Highlanders lives on in their decedents. God love Scotland forever.

  • ALBA GU BRATH!

  • Drums are close to being a cultural universal. How other than beating does one play with drums

  • God bless the KING and SCOTLAND!!!

  • Oh Culloden! I've read the history of the 45', such a sad place... was it hard to be there guys?

  • braw....init?

Come awa' ben and toast yer erse et the fire...ochone...ochone!

  • braw....init?

  • @kingdomofdalriada Who rattled your cage ? Just some guys having harmless fun, surely better than shortbread tins and bonnie prince charlie ?

  • The clans where then, the clans are now. We were always around no matter who tried to stop is.

  • I like this much better than some of the older more traditional styles of Pipe and drum.

It seems to be an evolutionary leap forward in palatable style at least for me.

I swear if i hear amazing grace one more time i will lose it.

  • @kingdomofdalriada If you lived with the clans and know that no clan EVER played drums like this, or wore clothes like this. then you should also have enough knowledge and wisdom to let others live in peace. Stop being a naysayer, and let us enjoy good quality music. If you don't like it, you are free to select a different band. Maybe you should check out Top Secret, though you may believe they aren't really Swiss either. I feel sorry for you and your ignorance. Go in peace.

  • @kingdomofdalriada do yourself a favour, i'm sure there are a few bridges high enough in your area.

  • GREATTT! Also, what's the name of the start up tune? Thanks!

  • @kingdomofdalriada no one said they are trying to be the real thing. they are just doing there own thing. its the 21st century. whats the real reason you hate them so much.

  • @ironkatia /agreed.

Most of us know that this is not truly traditional music. It's still damned good though.

  • @ironkatia Great they are doning their own thing anyway i love this music of theirs, and i believe in the clans im loyal to my ancestry it may be mixed of scots and american but i love my heritage

    great music keep it up

  • LOVE the guy on the right, dancing away while he' drumming : )

  • @ cumara0seadog What the hell are you on about??? the Scottish clearances didn't make people into slaves and servants, they were told to move to make way for more land for sheep and cattle. The people went to Canada,New zealand...ect

  • I joined the black watch when i was younger for 3 years in Canada..these guys are some serious pipers....I would luv to head to Scotland one day just to hang with these guys...

  • Truly I wish that I could have known Joe or that I could meet Maggie. A salute for the fallen and for the music that stirs my Scottish soul like no other.

  • Does anyone know the name of this tune or if it's on an album?

  • @sigarmsp2299 "She Moves Through the Fair" from the album "Keep It Tribal."

  • @sigarmsp2299 "She Moves Through the Fair" from the album "Keep It Tribal."

  • See these guys (and lass) at Highland Games at Grandfathers MTN often. Have met them all at West Virginia Games. LOVE 'EM !!!!! (Most are now with Albannach, but still love 'em!).

  • 28 years old, American born and bread but I must say this is some of THE BEST music I have EVER heard.

I can't get enough of Clann An Drumma. I've had Tried and True as well as Tribal Waves (Live) in my mp3 player since I bought them . I lsten to this all day long at work.

It's absolutely amazing music. Unlike the stuff I usually listen to, this never gets old.

  • If that doesn't bring your Scottish blood to a boil then you must be English. Love these guys, love the scenery, love the history.

  • ' I am come home Sir'

Prince Charlie's retort to Alexander Macdonald of Boisdale, who told him to go hame after the prince had landed in Eriskay, 1745.

  • Gorgeous!!!!! I love it! Cheers!

  • @THthefirst

How the hell is being subjugated by Brittain freedom, either?

  • Undisputed. My favorite band on Earth.

I miss these guys coming to America. Albannach is.. well.. amazing. But by far, no substitute for the original! Perhaps I should travel Home again, one day. If I do, I'll definitely make a point to see Clann An Drumma again!

And.... Rest in peace, Joe! I only just now found out about your passing..

    KEEP IT TRIBAL!

  • So you have to be brave and never lose hope, but yet at the same time it's not worthy of discussion??

And you don't have any point of view. You haven't said anything of any substance other than repeat a few general cliches that could very well apply to anything.

It's not that I disagree with what you say, it's that I do not understand what you are talking about, since Scotland is free, it has its own MPs, it is a wealthy country, it is a democracy.

  • What are you gibbering on about?

    Freedom from what?

You all have the vote so can elect your leaders etc

    Weird

  • dont be fooled , electing puppets ,does not equate to FREEDOM and ''INDEPENDENCE'' to make our ''own'' laws ,,,

and most importantly ,,, CONTROL WHERE OUR TAXES GO ..

theres a saying if u dont control your own taxes ,

    then u dont control ANYTHING'........

If u are not scots or dont come from a nation that has been taken over , then ,chances are you wont have a clue pal...

if your from a nation of invaders ,, then you will see us through patronising eyes ....

    weird ?

  • but the clansmen were part of a rigid social order that saw those at the bottom without any land or rights. How the hell is that freedom?

  • i am carnegie born in inverness couldsome one please tell me where i can get this music from it is the best the scots forever

  • estan chidas sus rolas, perron ese instrumento al que llaman gaita

  • Thats brill hahaha love the guy wi the drum hes nuts ....what talent ....

  • I thought this video was implying a revival of the clans, some at least. Sad.

  • My family line is Sneddon and Pallister by the way. Love this thanks.

  • Long live the clans!

  • Most modern clan chiefs are Tories, and support Scotland being ruled by England. Probably because that's where many of them were educated.

Don't forget either, that the clan system created the clearances...

  • @RabbitNexus Thas why we must keep our individual Identiy.

  • Heh..people should ignore neo-nazis like gaelicscots or scottishnationalist. Anyway, i've been in scotland as an exchange student and i had best days in my life there. I realy enjoyed everything it gave: beautiful enviroment, very friendly and talkative people in saunas and pubs, polish hatred (God kill atlest 70% of them all) and most of all street bagpipers. I even bought a kilt there, though people in my country think it's weird, but i love it. (sorry for my bad english)

  • Give it a rest the lot of u. At the end of the day were all human, national sentiments create racial divides and encourages hate. The bands a great bunch of guys and there doing what they do because they enjoy it, yes it is a completely fabricated image but there not trying to educate people there just entertainers. And as for this whole anti english thing, will someone please tell me why ther are and i will dispel what ever myth it is that you believe.

  • Comment removed

  • Well gaelicscot, I have it on good authority that you are not Scot. You accuse others of it, yet yourself aren't. Your desire is to spread hate and decention between brotheren. So your opinion of the band or any Scot decendent has very little value.

Now, the people who post these vid's enjoyed the music and want to share it with others and your rude, foul, missplaces, coments about the band or bloodline Scots is uncalled for. Why not talk to the band if you don't like them, their in Scotland!

  • Pardon my typo, I guess I didn't have my coffee quota for the day. It's very unfair, you running down the Scots in other countries. Alot of our mothers and fathers were part of the highland clearance. many of which were sold as slaves and servants. It was not by choice they were spread to the four corners of the earth. You do discredit to us all by badgering Scottish outcasts who are lost sheep of the same fold, and no more inbread or basterdized than any Scot born in Scotland.

  • I get so tired of hate filled people running down Scotts, acting as though they've lived forever and know the way every Scottsman or Irishman dressed and played an instrument. where you there 300, 500, 1500, 3000 years ago, I think not. Get over your unfounded hatred as it leads to division among bretheren and gives the tyrants their edge.

  • so intense..deff get the blood goin

  • There's no doubt, there's something about Scotland that certainly stirs the auld heart.

My (Scottish) ancestors fought with the Williamite forces, but i must admit, i do admire the highlanders for having the nackers to face and charge the redcoats' line.

    Terrible piping by the way.

  • Ach! Doon wit tha Sassenachs!!!

  • if thats the quality of piping we had to listen to at the battle of culloden its no wonder we fucking lost!

  • good stuff!

    Alba gu brath!

  • The word Scot is derived from the Irish tribe of the Scotti. The Picts are a bit of a mystery, but may have been simply northern Celts. After many years, the invading Scotti and Picts intermungled forming the Scots.

  • I CAN APPLY THIS TO MY DRUM-SET!

  • funny bluerider! oh how about the one that goes how do u distinguish the difference between the clans? if u look under the kilt and find a big mac u know it's a macdonald

  • That was of course a responce to- stirred my blood and i'm a macdonald!

  • Glad to hear that debate is live and well...

  • I like this music, I think you all need to discover the wonder of Valium and relax.

  • Battle of Culloden was horrible and following Highland Clearances. My information comes from people like author John Prebble; and moving image maker Peter Watkins who ironically got driven to France because noone liked his documentaries or films in UK. Love to see the Scots making a stand and this is from a Sloan who got driven out of Scotland hundreds of years before battle of Culloden.

  • They have a Celtic theme going on, not Jacobite so I think your comments are a bit harsh. You probably haven't met them, I have the first time was during the Walk for Wallace in London 2005. You obvously weren't there when they brought the centre of London to a stand still, it might also have been the fact that there were over 1500 kilted Warriors with them.

    Alba gu Brath

  • stirred my blood and i'm a macdonald!

  • Wow........could I have that with French Fries.

  • What fun! Thank you!

  • well bugger me.

  • so the picts and scots united?

  • Neither can my statement, we will agree to disagree. Goodbye from us Scots to you Picts

  • Read your original point, read mine then see why i said what i did.

  • Actually you are wrong, the Scots are from the area of Moyle which is on the North Coast of Ireland, there was a population migration through trade which gave enclaves of Scots within Pictish territory, these grew with intermarriage and desire for territory until they became the dominant tribe in the South west of Scotland then moved on to the rest of Pictland.

  • Scots are from scotland end of chat! otherwise you could factually say we are all from africa!

  • Well if your comment was that interesting why didn't you keep it to yourself? I don't think anyone will sleep easier tonight knowing what facts are in you head. "end of chat" WTF!!

  • You got your name from the Irish anyway. We are the original Scots, you Picts.

  • talk to me.........I know and want to help

  • mon the scots

  • the best

  • Fuck 'em damn English cowards!
