Whoa, that was a good save! If my eyes are reading correcting, that was a landing on RWY 04L, meaning the wind was coming from 60 degrees to the right at 25kts!! Man O Man!! That amount of drift and un-balanced landing called for a go-around. good job, (C)aptain
I echo that sentiment!! And it's great to see the MD-80 series still flying. I think it will be a looong time before the very last one exits commercial service.
Regarding the landing at the end, if you watch the CRJ-900 Pluna DVD, it looks like the same type of thing is going on-thermals, I think.
wow one handed landing at the end, and i see the aircraft in real life isn't that responsive because he moves the yoke everywhere and the plane dosent even move
Wow, that was a rough landing at the end. He worked it a lot, and was way off centerline. Must have been some turbulent conditions to rock an airplane of that size as much as it did. Great video!
Hold em cowboy, Great job

The last landing he really had to fight it down. Looks like cross wind from the right. Can you tell me the wind speed on the last landing?
yahweh18 1 year ago
@yahweh18 Wind had 23 Knots, you can hear that from the Tower at 6:44
RWProductions1000 1 year ago
@yahweh18 they say 23knots crosswind comming from 100 since they're landing on runway 04L it's a cross wind component of about 60 degrees

LOVE the MD-80. It's so elegant in the sky. Like an egret. It will be sad when it's gone.
