its a federal law that you are not permitted to damage these cars untill all usable parts are removed or its decommissioned by the junkyard and is ready to be crushed or you can get fined for federal property damage for the parts that you wrecked, to the government that truck is worth over $2000 in usable parts what ever damage you cause you pay for it and there is alot of people that will turn you in,the scfcp will notify the government the next time you post damages to a cash for clunkers car.

Where I live in the rust belt even with the dented door that blazer would have been worth a nice chunk... more than they got I'm sure. I worked at a salvage yard during that time and saw alot of vehicles that could have easily been sold for $6-8k. Even a 2002 Navigator in decent shape with about $2k (that's what the yard sold them for) in 20" wheels and tires on it. I saw some absolute junk as well.
