Actually, blaze rods are used to make brewing stand, or it can be used to light a furance. Gold niggets make gold ignots or, if it is combined with a melon, it can create a majical melon. Gast tears are used to make health potions. A spider eye is used to make a potion to get through with hunger, or if it is combined with a awkward potion it can be used to make a poionous one. Eye of Ender is used to creat end portal which is a portal leading to a new place similar to the nether.

@praticle in pre 4 you can make instant health pots with alchemie its realy awesome :D There is a normal instant health pot which heals i think 2 hearts and an increased one which heals 4 too bad you cant stack them :/ Also poisen is possible and instant poisen/damage you can throw it if you combine it with gunpowder btw

@praticle make a awkward potion, its a base of any potion.. Use a netherwart and a water bottle! And then use the potion you got with a glistering melon! this will heal you directly, and if you add glowstone after that, it wil heal more!
