  • "well you can count on that"!!! hahaha

  • I LOVE THESE COMIC RELIEFS..NOTHING today can come close no matter how hard they try..Thanks a million for uploading Tabstarkin..:-)

  • These skits would be a wonderful live theater show...maybe do the same 3 skits every night for 2months or so then change...would be a hit in NYC. If you find the right talent of course.

  • You can call me anything you want..."well you can count on that!"..lol

  • What does Ed say at 6:36? "Im not going to spend another evening watching Mickey Hart on______"????

  • Good times always end when a few sour women show up to ruin the good time, LOL.

  • Any one else think theres a weird sort of bromance between ed and mickey lol. Ed cant go 10 minutes without praising and almost swooning over him lmao.

  • "Do not start with me, Mama. Do not start. Just do not start. I am trying to hang on to my poise with every fiber of my being. So do not start." I can totally identify.

  • At 6:30 you can see Vicki laughing :)

  • "After all the man never did get married, Lord knows what he does at night"...that is cold...lol.

  • Watch Vicki's face after she says the line "There's no tellin' what's growin' in them glasses you two are drinkin' out of!" She's just about to break up and start laughing.

  • I'm glad that Ed has Mickey for a friend. Poor Ed, married to that harpy Eunice and having to put up with that witch mother-in-law Thelma. He needs a friend.

  • what did she mean about "every color of the rainbow hanging out on this block"? I don't get it.

  • @WOTEetynn she means it's not a "white" neighborhood

  • @WOTEetynn Lol, she meant lots of different "races" or ethnic people living in the neighborhood.

  • These old clips bring back good memories of when I was a kid in the '70s. We used to watch All in the Family, Mary Tyler Moore Show and the Bob Newhart Show and then Carol Burnett every Saturday night. After Carol Burnett, Houston Wrestling would come on in southeast TX and southwest Louisiana after the local news.

  • Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Chinese foooooood XD i could go for some of that right now!

  • I just can't stop laughing! This segment of the legendary Carol Burnett show was always my favorite, & this particular episode was so outrageously funny. Way to go Tabstarkin & You-Tube - TVLands got nothing on you.

  • Love Eunices shoes!!!

  • @MPL029 My mom had shoes like that.

  • Great episode and something rare. The other cast members were famous for cracking up during the skits. Vicki Lawrence could normally hold it together. Look at her face when they push her out of the chair. SHe is cracking up

So funny. THis was the best show on TV in the 70's

  • My one of all fav's on this episode is Mickey, SHE'S TOO BIG TO GET OUTTA THIS CHAIR- NOW HOLD ON- LOLOLOLOL-

  • I suspect Mickey Hart and Ed were more than just co-workers,,,,,

  • Micky...'You can call me anything you want..' Mama: "You can count on that..." classic..what a hoot!! haha

  • "Well I never expected anything like this. I thought your place was a disaster area!"

  • I love the part, "Don't start on me, Mama. Do not start, Do not start. I am trying to hang on to my poise with every fiber of my being, so don't start." And her body movement

  • I was going to say the exact same thing, but you took the words right out of my mouth. She was (is) so brilliant, but they all were.

  • This is so funny.

  • OMG, LMAO....

  • I LOVE IT---The one funny part is SHE'S TO BIG TO GET OUT OF THE CHAIR- LOLOL---OHHHHHHHH PRICLESS

  • I like the way Vicki loses it sometimes :):) It must be so much fun doing a sitcom, lol :):) Thanks for posting!! :)

  • Just noticed a little mistake. When the family shows up at Mickeys apartment, the curtain to the kitchen area is completely closed. Ed points out the "Happy 5th sign" , then Ed and Mickey reminisce over mickey's first day on the job, Mama asks to sit down, then the camera shows them all, and this time the curtain to the kitchen area is wide open.

  • More than likely it's because this particular episode was edited for syndication. They take too much out sometimes and then the episode is lacking. I'd love to have an unedited version of this one! :-)

  • Yeah, I've watched Carol Burnett in syndication, going back to the late 1970s. Those half hour programs with several skits. I've NEVER seen a full and complete, uncut episode, which I would love to.

  • I would say on the first take they opened it up to get the beer then they had to do another take when every body lost it getting Viki out of the chair so when the did the second take they left the curtain open.

  • I have the unedited version and it seems completly different.

  • Also I saw an interview with Carol Burnette and she said they filmed the same show twice in one day and the one with the less "mistakes" made it on TV.

So slips like this made it through.

  • And sometimes they would edit TWO shows together.

  • The Carol Burnett Show was taped twice. AND both parts were edited together.

  • Thats because Ed and Mickey open it up to go in and get the beer. Pay attention.

  • flyboy you had better pay attention. your wrong.

  • When they try to push Mama out of the chair, you can tell she's trying not to smile.

    Must of been hard! Lol.

  • yeah it must have! FUNNY

  • "Oh, mercy!"

    LOL

  • I love the part when Mama leave, and Eunice screams out the door, with a deep sneer on her face and yells: "Don't you move!" Hilarious. Carol Burnett's facial expressions in all her skits are the best in comedy, period.

  • LOL, Wonderful!

  • "Lord knows what he does at night." hahaha

I feel bad for Mickey having a friend with such a horrible family. It's sweet though that he wants to impress them so much (for the life of me I can't figure out why). If I were Eunice, I'd feel awful for acting that mean!

  • Carol,Vicki,Tim and Harvey--makers of bellylaughs!

  • She actually did start laughing at one time; look at her face once she turns away from Ed and Eunice after commenting "Lord only knows what's growing in them glasses you two are drinkin out of!"

  • And she is also laughing as she is about to be dumped out of that chair by Mickey Hart after he tells Mama to stick her arms up to brace herself from the fall...so funny.

  • Watching Part 1 of Mickey's Apartment you can tell that Vicki Lawrence had a very hard time from laughing especially after Mickey told Mother Harper that we're going to have to dump her out of the chair. Absolutely priceless to watch.

  • Eunice: "dont start on me mama, do not start, do not start!"

    lmao!

  • I always found it hard to believe that Eunice would be so mean to someone like Mickey! I can see Mama being mean to him, but you'd think Eunice would have some sympathy for him. He's kinda a pitiful underdog like HERSELF!

  • That's the joke...Eunice is arrogant, trying to be something she's not.

  • Sometimes Eunice seems different in certain skits, at first I could actually see her taking up for the "underdog".

  • That was the pathos of Eunice: she always thought she had talent that was untapped; singing talent, acting talent. But she was pitifully UNtalented. You could feel compassion for her, but she was so damned annoying! All of "the family" were ignorant, tactless, endlessly critical and yammering emotional cripples.

  • "Well, just how many beers does that make for you today Eunice?" - LOVE the look on Carol's face!

  • Only Mama would have the nerve to go thru Mickey Harts closet. That spiteful old witch, along with Eunice belong in a sanitarium. If I was Mickey, I'd throw both their asses out in the street. Please keep posting the Family

Episodes. They are comic gems, even after all these years.

  • lol, when they dump Mama out of that chair onto the floor, it's just so freakin funny...i love that little "thud" you hear when Mama lands...lol. great posting, tab.
