  • how come zakir never played with nfak or tari khan?

  • that was the thing bout nusrat, he didn't have a set standard of what he was gonna do in a concert, he knew what he was gonna sing, but as the concert went on he had different raags running through his mind, and u never knew when he would drop a raag.

  • forget about technicality of 6 0r 4 ,,,,,He was the just best. No one can compare with Nusrat saab. Don't even think about it. I am an India Punjabi & I loved this performance

  • i love this performence ,.,. ustad nusrat and ustad tari ,.,.

  • unbayanable

  • You can tell from the begging how humble he is.

  • Words are not enough to do justice to this singing buddha !,gift from god to humanity. And an absolute jewel of a video.Thank you for uploading

  • ROFL i love how at 4:44 nusrat felt the need to check the time rofl amazing all THREE of them usually farroukhs talent gets unrecognised in the pressence of nusrats greatness, but truly great improv,

  • @madifudhi Brother Ustad Nusrat was primarily a 'QAWWAL' and traditionally they are trained for high pitch and powerful vocal!Training of Indian CLASSICAL music is primarily done on HARMONIUM and SUR-MANDAL these days. Whereas SARANGI and TANPURA were used in the yester years! So, it's all about the amount of effort one puts in the practice(RYAZ) also of course a gud teacher(USTAD) is imperative.

Nusrat used to practice 10 hours daily sincerely...so one can understand now the reason of his voice!

  • Exceptional video, thanx for sharing, dude. It just can't get any better then this.

  • This is a ancient Bandish based on Raag Gavati.

  • we cant compare nusrat sahib to michael jackson,,,,nusrat sahib had 6 octaves, and mostly ustads in this world able to had 5octaves maximum, and dat counts alot,,so he was really gift sent from god,,

  • thank you for the lovely concert. could you plz put the full video recording? simply wonderful!

  • this is bloody brilliant! Does anyone know how Nusrat Saab trained to have such a high vocal range??

  • @madifudhi hey buddy, to answer your question. Nusrat Saab had a six-octave vocal range. That is why he was able to sing at such high level's of intensity's for a long time.

truly a musician sent from the gods!

  • @Brawllover8 I'm not sure about 6 octaves, but at least 4, similar to Michael Jackson? I am a singer myself, classicaly trained, but our training doesn't aim for range it is on technique. i wonder if Nusrat Saab trained as in American style "speech level singing" or Italian Opera "bel canto"...those are 2 training techniques to be able to hit super high notes in falsetto/head voice without any breaks...fellow singers will understand what I mean... Either way, yes he was a true gift from God!

  • @madifudhi i'm just going off of Wikipedia which says he had a 6 octave vocal range.

he had the same aura as Micheal Jackson, i was alive when Jackson died and i was alive when Nusrat saab died.

ever where nusrat went, people would bombard him, just like Micheal Jackson

  • @madifudhi Im not a singer but I have heard about 3 octaves (saptakas) in Indian Classical music....Mandar, Madham and Taar Saptaka......As per my listening experience Nusrat Sahib's voice was perfect for Madham and Taar Saptakas so he concentrated on that only....that is how he could manage to sing perfectly on ultra high notes......and his range was 3 octaves starting from Sa (madham Saptaka)

  • @Brawllover8 6 octave that does not sound real man. but anything is possible: amazing.

  • @Brawllover8 Oh please brother, I would do anything for the full video. Thans for your time.

  • woow ive got the full audio version to this, amazing !!!

  • music ends on him.......no 1 can go beyond

  • Concert was in Seattle Washington

  • Oh God... What a genius...

That person really knew the art of music...

The Master of music, and excellent Tabla.

  • This bandish was first sung and made popular by Ustad Mohammad Hussain "Sarahang" from Afghanistan... back in the 1960's. He was the first person to sing raag Gawati, he sung at a musical conference sometime in the 1960's, and then much later Ustad Imrat Khan played it in the late 60's - 70's. This isn't a very common raag.

    Nader Zekria

  • sublime

  • Raag Gavati,

    beautiful bandish

  • mate - this is not on the live @ meany VHS - where do we get the full video? this is the 2nd half of the classical piece - many thanks!
