So, please may dear friend, I invite you to read Tim Keller's book "Reasons for God" it will help to see how the Christian faith has something that others don't have at all, Christ the Savior and Lord.
Indeed, this prosperity thinking IS a false doctrine. It would be different if the preachers of this were practicing the same giving they expect from their congregations, and not taking part in vanity and wasting their money on expensive worldly possessions that will burn while their congregations go poor and hungry.
These men will answer to God for the false hope and wrong doctrine they have imposed on these poor villagers. it is sad because these pastors live in nice houses, drive nice cars, and act as if material blessing is the fruit of serving God while spending their money. We cannot work our way to heaven nor did Jesus promise monetary wealth to those that follow him.
We can see that when we fallow the principles and values of God we prosper in all areas, but also we see that because of the name of Jesus and the gospel we can suffer economically and even die. We need to learn to understand the relationship of divine justice and mercy through Christ that gives hope to the poor in this world, but also the cost to fallow Jesus. In Acts there were no need one, all share what they had, there were hope by mercy and love.

It is very tragic that the gospel has come to this. Our Lord says that wolves will come in sheep's clothing. Many will claim that He (our Lord) is the Christ and will deceive many. I am not going to lie, for a good portion of this I was extremely uncomfortable with the stuff that the...I can't really call him a pastor or a teacher...the guy? What he was saying and With the people my heart broke for them...But the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and I don't see the fear of the Lord in demanding money...it reminds me of a kid throwing a tantrum in the store begging for candy. I simply asked God to revel It's self to me as It is with out preconceived notions. Since becoming a non christian I still have many prayers answered, been healed and seen miracles. Agree to disagree :)

@lyke2fight hi, my brother in Christ but non-christian. Well, good to hear that God continues to be your heavenly Father. Yet, it keep looking for the True, the Bible has 66 books, even thou the catholic has some more, but they even know that they are just historical not inspire, also the Jews have those books but don't give them divine authority. And on you not wanting to have the interpretation of others, well, all need teachers, you are a teacher! Keep the good work in faith and grace.

@mtmsmilenow Brother, I think you need to take a good hard look at John 8 before calling lyke2fight a 'brother'. What does Jesus say about those who 'believe in Him' (v.31) and then goes on to drive home the point that God is NOT their father. "So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, "If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."

Those -prosperity preachers- have an appointment in hell .... Lucifer is calling, and those answering, because the agenda is not enough full. At the end, God will not prosper them in final day.

in 1 Corinthians 15, Paul makes it clear that the gospel is that Christ died according to the scriptures and was buried and rose from the dead on the third day according to the scriptures.
Its amazing how the gospel has been perverted today and more perversion keeps on coming.

It is very tragic that the gospel has come to this. Our Lord says that wolves will come in sheep's clothing. Many will claim that He (our Lord) is the Christ and will deceive many. Apostle Paul said "Of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things." These days are now here. Deception has now entered the evangelical church and I cringe at many who are falling to this evil.

I am not going to lie, for a good portion of this I was extremely uncomfortable with the stuff that the...I can't really call him a pastor or a teacher...the guy? What he was saying and With the people my heart broke for them...But the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and I don't see the fear of the Lord in demanding money...it reminds me of a kid throwing a tantrum in the store begging for candy. It really bums me out, There is so much more hope than trying to name and claim $20.

Don't take all that the Lord would do and believe that what is seen here is in anyway of the Lord Jesus Christ. God is working powerfully and awesomely but it is done without payment. The enemy will 'counterfeit' the works of the Holy Spirit to 'fool' many and it will be close but at the same time...way off. Instead of knowing about all of the scriptures and drawing close to God so that He may draw close to us...they are out in the 'weeds' and believe that they can overcome the poverty
