@tbbw No, it's next mode only. I'd love something that could send individual instructions to each light, you could make some really crazy stuff with that! :)
I just purchased the same setup and am going in a similar direction as you in terms of what im trying to do with the strip. I see that you have a about 4 or 5 meters there, how are you powering it separate from the Arduino? I saw on the forums that you can power the arduino with 6-12volts, but are you powering the strip completely separately?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I've only finished the frame that the lights will be going on, and programming the LEDs to respond to the Arduino. I'm still fine-tuning the concept and now I'm thinking something with Max/MSP might be better than just coding it all myself. Had to put it on hold for a bit to work on other things like a music video and a new album, but back at it in the fall! :)
I bought the lights from coolight.com.hk, but their website doesn't seem to be up now. It was a 5v strip that works with the HL1606 driver code and is powered from the Arduino board itself. Not sure where else to find those, that was one of the only places I could find before.
Iv been trying to do the same thing here and I was thinking mosfets to control the led light bars I have for each channel react on its own so I dont fry the arduino witht he 12volt, 2 or how ever many amp power supply that came with the bars.
I use them for my room lightings and would love to get them working as there intended use again. If you have some ideas, I would love to throw some ideas around and hear more about your project as well.
Hey JB, seems like your comment go through... sometimes youtube is a bit of a pain! Anyway, still very interested in knowing where the HL1606 and LED strip came from. Thanks for your help.
cool!

what type of led you are using on this flexible led light?

Are the led's induvidualy addressable or is put color to next led mode only ?
As in set 5th led red and 7 blue, then i might want to make 5 green and 16 yellow.
