@Darusdei Essentially, the US did save the world. First the Nazi threat, then the Communist threat. The world we know today would be drastically different should they have been allowed to persist. Some would call it English / American imperialism, but those who died would probably disagree. My own grandparents would assert it was US power that freed them from a Jap internment camp.

If there had been no second front, Germany would probably have stalemated the USSR. No, Britain could not have taken back Europe on their own. In fact, their numbers amounted to a 1/3 of what the US dropped on D-day.
US "jumped" or we were already encouraging German-born Jews to emigrate. It's not like we 'liberated' A-bomb plans.

Your definition of an unimpedable front didn't occur until 44 with the Allied invasion of France.
The Japanese knew to create an empire of the Pacific would require mass holdings of the various Pacific territories. To which, attempting to take would be untenable without first striking down the other largest naval force in the region, the US.

Secondly, the greatest amount of aid goes to Israel because they are the most similiar to the US, democratically, economically, ethnically. Third, they've been far more dependable than any of their Muslim neighbors.
