I don't care if it's a "trick" rope or knot ; ) - I spent three hours Sunday tryin to learn to twirl an actual lariat ( which IS a " trick rope") from two very patient cowboys. I would have felt like a real doofus had there not been 6 other guys there also tryin unsucessfully to do the same thing. Good job! ps We still have about 2 months before the show opens here.
Have You also heard of "Sparkey the Wonder Horse".? Was on [You Asked for It], twerelled a 40' loop. Just By Gridely, Ca. off 99 near Yuba City. I was new to the State, and kept planning to stop there, but decided not to when the sign came down.in the early 80's if I recall. Ahyhoo, Cool Show.
Hah, nothing tricky about the rope. You can see as they bring it out to me that it's pliable and everything. It took some work, but I really had to learn how to do it all...
its not a trick rope but he uses short ropes so there isnt any left over, which means you can spin it in one direction without it tangling(that makes a lot easier) so its not a trick rope but those ropes arent good for anything else except doing tricks
Nicely done. You have charisma too. I used to do shows in the 1980s and early 1990s in Southern California with Monte Montana. I don't do rope tricks, I am a comic/singer who now lives in Tennessee. Monte was good with lassos and rope tricks and trick riding stunts. He did a scene in The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence where he rode a horse inside a door and up onto a stage. Keep up the good work.

Very cool! The side to side thing makes the rope look as if it's a trick rope :-)
