Ryuk sees whats happening and he drops a death note again and Light´s son grabs it. Light´s son sets off to find Near. Light becomes a Shinigami and drops a death note making misa grab it, Light finds another way to kill shinigamis and wants to kill Ryuk for what he did to him.

But it would make sense for him to become a Shinigami since their is no explanation where Shinigami even come from. They can't just exist.

If people became Shinigamis after using a death note, then judging by how many Shinugamis there are then quite a number of humans before light have used a death note. So shoulden't there be some historical knowledge in the human world about the use of death notes? Even if Light was the first person to draw attention to the death notes with his shenanigans surely there would still be some form of information about them, like legends and such.
the way Light died was depressing, he screwed up at the end and it screwed over his whole plan, he got cocky and arrogant, and it was his downfall. if Shinigami Light remembers any thing of when he was Light, he could easily complete his goal

Ryuk seems to be alot older than before from the look on his face and eyes. Plus, the paper from his Death Note aged a bit.

Problem with the Light = Shinigami theory
If people became Shinigamis after using a death note, then judging by how many Shinugamis there are then quite a number of humans before light have used a death note. So shoulden't there be some historical knowledge in the human world about the use of death notes? Even if Light was the first person to draw attention to the death notes with his shenanigans surely there would still be some form of information about them, like legends and such.

the way Light died was depressing, he screwed up at the end and it screwed over his whole plan, he got cocky and arrogant, and it was his downfall. if Shinigami Light remembers any thing of when he was Light, he could easily complete his goal

@ghdude150 light was perfect at his plan. its actually mikami who screwed everything by going for the second time at the bank and writing takada's name in without Light telling him to do so (Light told him not to do anything without being instructed). Thats how the SPK team found out about the note book and eventually changed the pages.

When a human takes a shinigami's eyes, are they not then, the human's eyes. If a human holds a shinigami's eyes, are they not indeed part shinigami? If so, then does that not make them inaccesable to heaven or hell? It's mostly said one man starts something, and he feels he must also finish it, even after death. Light yagami seems like the type of man who would finish what he started, in life or death. So there is one question... which shinigami is now, Light Yagami?.

MU A.K.A nothingness is for everyone, every human go there, MU mean nothingness and it also means equal, no matter what you done you go to the same place as everyone else. but there is a exemption for those who use the deathnote when ryuk was explaining the rules about the deathnote to light about who ever uses the death note will not to to heaven or hell, what he meant to say that there is no heaven and no hell, that they go to nothingness,

uh that shinigami is not fucking light. Any human who used the death note goes to MU or nothingness when they die, its their punishment for using the death note. theyre not granted eternal life by being turned into a shinigami and sent to the shinigami realm. ryuuk is simply reflecting upon his times with light to the other shinigami. As for him throwing ryuuk the apple, i suppose thats because apples are a form of payment in the shinigami realm, Ryuuk mentioned something like that once.

@ryakoasakora Where is it stated anywhere in the anime/manga that more shinigami are able to be made? It's shown they can indeed die but considering they are gods, it is implied they have just always existed. Also stating that the shinigami realm is MU makes no sense, heres why. MU is not a physical place or realm, its just a way of saying that when a person who used the death note dies they simply cease to exist. No soul, no afterlife, no being turned into a death god.

There is a rule in the death note that states 'all humans without exception will eventually die.' shinigami are not responsible for ALL of the deaths of humans. In fact its even stated in the anime that most death gods don't even write humans names in their death notes anymore because other shinigami just consider it over-working.

Honestly, there's not alot of evidence to say that young shinigami is actually Kira.
Ryuk seems to be alot older than before from the look on his face and eyes. Plus, the paper from his Death Note aged a bit.
Now that he's older, he's reminiscing back when he was on Earth and having fun with Kira. And like most shows, he ends up looking off, mentioning the person as if they are with them in spirit. It doesn't really mean he's talking to the young shinigami. But it's wishful thinking though.

from the look of it, Light lost his memories of being kira, but his interest for changing the world remains. it's just like when he forefeited ownership of the death note. He lost his memories but his personality stayed the same. For some reason, Ryuk doesn't remind Light of who he is.

Once someone does, he'll cooperate with the human and orchestrate how he/she should use the death note. Then that person will become the new Kira. Light would probably tell him/her to kill off the people who foiled his plans the first time, i.e. Near, Matsuda, etc. to extract revenge, then new Kira and Light would win. AWESOME PLOT FOR A NEW SEASON.
