  • I was there yesterday.

actually, you bought a native house of my great grandmother :))

  • @Ann74417 How nice. I hope you are happy with the way the house looks today.

  • which country is this

  • @citic101 Hi Jonathan, I live in Croatia.

  • I so enjoyed watching this video. A nice introduction with a little bit of story telling about the house its history and the people connected to it. Then you let the camera take-over and so many good shots of the men working away in a style that is busy yet relaxed. The black & white video also gave a sense of the past turning to the present with the colour coming back at the end. Lovely sound track with guitar and birds chipping away added another layer to this lovely film about your new home.

  • Gosh..I've never seen this before..for a minute..I thought U was looking at my house?..LOL..you lucky son of a gun !! what a fantastic house, you'd NEVER get UK tradesmen doing a job like that,,absolutely not.Why did they plaster over the builders carved initials..why not put the stucco around it? 5*** last week in Aug 1st in Sept please..lol.pixie xx

  • Enthralling Andrew, it`s like Toracube says, one is drawn right in there

with the pace of this video, nice work.

  • @MrCatstail I am really pleased that you came to this as a recommendation, via Toracube. As there are now 13 films posted here I hope you will get a chance to get to know life and the people of this village. Thanks for watching

  • Its not just the great subjects you pick, the camera work, the feel, but the pacing that draws me in. Cant take my eyes off these vids. Refreshing. Looks a great place !!! Really great work!! Loved the music too.

  • @Toracube Thanks so much for taking the trouble to watch this. I am glad you like my presentation, I think the least I can do if I want people to watch these films is to make something with care and consideration since I want people to feel their time is well spent here. It is great that you are following this story.

  • Such a a very thoughtful film about a special place. The introductory profiles of the original home builder and his daughters give a sense of continuity amid change in this careful renovation. Your restrained use of color further emphasizes connection with the houses' past by suggesting rejuvenation as succession mindful of history as the black and white film integrates with color as the renovation proceeds. Very interesting film, indeed.

  • @XaveJamesGrey Thanks so much, James, yes I like the B/W for just those reasons but also not to distract from the understated action. Appreciate your visit, thanks

  • So wonderful to see your country home. Your respect for Mate is palpable, but your mark, too, I'm sure will be very enduring. Forty-three years from now, I wonder what wonderful things will be said about you and all you have done to honor your village. (Ah, Lucy makes a wonderful transition at minute six!)

  • @AllErikaEclectica I am sure there will be tremendous changes over the next 43 years, hopefully I will be there to record them. Good of you to pay us a visit.

  • We might have to go there to hide from tinySpectacle and Pam until they cool off :P -- good video ;)

  • @DavidRandallCurtis Believe me, David, it is a sanctuary in more ways than one. Thanks for stopping by. Do let me know when it is safe to come out again!

  • This is a beautiful house in a beautiful place with a beautiful history. Thank you for sharing this.

  • @Idlinfarm Thanks, Ida, the house as a home is always a special place, it was kind of you to stop by.
