While you are sitting up there in the A/C analyzing everything we do take a second and take into consideration, the danger we put ourselves in to try and make customers happy. heat exhaustion, heat stroke, dehydration, working around jet blast, and engine suction, permanent hearing loss. And before someone says oh thats no big deal, Delta has already lost 2 or 3 people this year due to the above mentioned hazards. Tell those mens families that their jobs werent dangerous, even though they died
@altonb2 LMAO. dangerous. all you fucking do is pick up bags and put them down. don't piss around claiming your job is dangerous. the reason the pay is so shit because a fucking moron could be a baggage handler. the only reason anyone would die is because they are a fucking idiot. its not the 1800s anymore, if you feel sick enough that death would be a possibility then you stop working and go to the hospital. the only reason anyone would die doing this is cos of their own stupid fault.
hey watch the 747 at JFK video and tell me my job isnt dangerous you have no idea at all, about how many people are actually hurt and die a year becasue of stuff they have no control over.
@ViolatedPenguin no one said baggage handlers had anything to do with it, everybody that works on the ramp are known as baggage handlers, it is a big department. point is things happen everyday out of our control that could be very dangerous how about you think with an open mind
I dont know whats wrong with this video. I work in ATL, and I must say if you dont hink you luggage is being treated right drive take a cruise or walk to wherever you want to go. When its 90 degrees outside and its even hotter on the ramp, and you have been outside for the past 4 hours with maybe about 30 minutes down time total, tell me you would place each and every bag down safely. I dont throw bags around but I also dont have the time to baby your overweight bags.
Dude I know that ALA! I have worked with him before and he wasnt doing a bad job he actually had the sideloader next to the belt so no throwing no smashing he was setting them on the belt.. now the pilot mentioned you could hear the crew stacking.. think about what they were doing in the belly.. also before you talk smack bout my job come out and work for one day see what you think of over 1000 bags in one day..
New Oakley Sunglasses that you bought in Florida.. Broken. New Bong you bought.. Broken.. Grandma's new glass piece for her birthday.. Broken. Your new IPad.. Who cares. The shampoo bottle in your bag... now on your clothes. The wedding outfit you plan to wear the same day at your cousins wedding.. wrinkled and stained. No biggie. Stupid luggage handlers half assing their job.
@84ndman Shit that is that important needs to be on YOU and not in your cargo bag. Your not a corporate jet owner where someone takes care of your bag and only your bag. You know your bags wont be babied. Its just not possible when you have a timetable and many many more planes to handle.
You passengers have no idea. What you see is the bag being very carefully handled. Just wait until it gets in the airplane where you can't see---it is picked up and thrown as hard as can be to the next guy so he can stack it on the bulkhead. And in the baggage make up area? They have mechanical smashers that hit the bags so hard you can't believe it. But yet, you pick on these dudes just trying to make a buck. So walk next time, OK? Baggage handlers stand strong!
We prefer the term Rampies, but you are right, bags go through a lot and how this guy was handling the bags and stacking onto the belt was good. No tossing or anything. What do you guys want, your luggage stacked on pillows?
I prefer the term knuckle dragging tarmac gorilla with the IQ of a chipmunk. You use the excuse of timetables, of the workload, etc. What it really boils down to is repetitive work an boredom, A lack of care for other peoples property, and overpaid union types that think the sun shines out of you recital sphincter
Lol, homeboy hops off the tug, goes to the cart and just watches the other guy work. LOL then he goes somewhere 4 a minute, and come back when the other guy is almost done. Thats how u get off easy
man they must be killin the guy thats in the bin stackin the bags this is good cuz ive seen worse... i work for southwest airlines and ive seen some people just throw them onto the belt loader!!
haha I donno if yall fly the 737 800 I know you have the 700 but the 8 bin 3 is bout 3times longer.. two people in the bin on the first row those bgs are going for a ride.

For the number crunchers out there...
757: 50 min, 250 bgs, 200 pcs cargo/trip...
900 pcs in 50 mn (3000 sec)= 3.1 sec each pc - from ground to bin.
737: 40 min, 200 bags, 150 pcs frt...
700 pcs in 40 mn (2400 sec) = 3.4 sec/pc!
Bags: 30-60 lbs, Frt up to 400 lbs each pc!
Total: 15-20 THOUSAND lbs moved in 50 mn!!!
Those who have never been in the pit have no right to complain...Would it get done better if they did it themselves?
