  • Oh my fucking god.....how complicate do they want to make just to move and change the battery..Does anybody know how much it cost to replace the Battery in Apple store?

  • @LoudNproudAzn If you can not do it yourself or just dont want to we offer the repair service via our webpage at DirectFix com.

  • NO WAY... Apple should do this for FREE... (Customer retention)

  • Apple makes this difficult on purpose. Its another 200 dollars they make when you need it replaced by them. Its like that on all iPhones and one of the main reasons I quit buying them.

  • apple can go suck my damn fucking battery!

  • Im having similar problems with dc4lsvtec. The phone keeps telling me that the battery is charged fully however when i stop charging it the battery will drain once more. I have recently had my battery replaced could it also be a motherboard problem? and if so can you replace the motherboard?

  • @CarlyyYau Sounds like an issue with the charging circuit on the motherboard.

  • Done. took me 1/2 hour. I am happy. thank you

  • I just replaced my battery with a new one because it was draining too fast, but now my battery is draining faster. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

  • @dc4lsvtec The problem may have been the charging circuit on the motherboard and not the battery.

  • @dc4lsvtec yeah bro u just need to lower you brightlight on you i phone

  • Thanks for sharing dude, nice job!:D

  • Jesus fucking christ they didnt make this easy to do .. on my other phone i pop the top and take the damn thing out with one finger

  • @WorldisCoolBlog You can thank Apple for that.

  • @pdaparts apple made some amazing products but they sure are fucking bullshit and stubborn.

  • @WorldisCoolBlog - It's not a user serviceable part anyway you bonehead so just deal with it. Good or bad that's what Apple decided to do. Now go wash your mouth out with soap! Keep your filthy brain to yourself and be civil.

  • @BryanAtNovell What did he say that was so bad? He just said that changing the battery is more difficult than necessary.

  • Great Video. phone works nice details.

  • great video. but why does it have to be so damn hard to change the freakin battery. why cant u just pop the case off and boom theres the battery stuck with nothing but double sided tape

  • This is a superb video and Kudos to the originator for putting it up on You Tube, on the plus side it has saved me a fortune, It has persuaded me not to waste money on an Iphone.....what genius at Apple decided it was a good idea to build a phone which you have to take apart just to change the battery. The sheer stupidity has put me off Apple products for life. One tiny slip or broken ribbon and the whole phone is destroyed. I'm off to research HTCs :-)

  • yo yo yo thanks for the video, very helpful! managed to replace my battery successfully.. although i accidentally popped out the camera and thought i snapped a ribbon... but it's alllllll good :)

  • Mine wont turn on..One morning it wouldn't turn on and when i charge it it still doesn't turn on.Can you help please?

  • @ASniperFanboy Reboot it or restore it?

  • @pdaparts how do you reboot or restore if it wont turn on ?

  • My iphone 3gs turns off at 100% battery then when i turn it back on it is at 72% usually. Does this mean i need to replace the battery?

I can't use any apps wifi brightness 3g email notifications or locations without my phone being plugged in.

  • @hesh21 I can not confirm 100% you need a battery but it would not hurt to replace it.

  • @pdaparts I appreciate your response.

I will replace the battery using your video! Thanks

  • Just a tip. If your screen isn't working when you finish putting it back together. Try a hard reset (hold the sleep and home button down for several seconds), saved my butt; I thought I broke the screen or something during the disassemble.

  • @notsunblaze Great Tip

  • Cheers, successfully changed my battery while using this vid for reference, even though I used a sucker instead of the case opener tool to remove the screen. Lol at the 23 noobs who turned their iphones into bricks

  • is a battery from a ipod touch 3rd gen compatable with the iphone 3g?

  • @bluesjamminbob No it is not compatible.

  • thumbs up if you said "fuck you apple" after watching this video

  • @kobasica lol yea my evo is 100 times better than any iphone....

  • @kobasica i did but you cant thumbs up on this video..

  • @matforsbon and rest of u idiots dont buy an iphone if ur not sure wat u gettin and its all shown 4 u step by step u fuckin morons try it or shut the fuck up and rent urself to get a bit of cash to pay someone to do it for you as ur clearly a retard btw thanks for vid

  • @liamlana Anger management. Look into it.

  • Just did this to change my battery, was nervous as all hell, but with your video I got through it! Thanks from a very happy Brit!

  • @robb8of9 No problem and thanks for the positive post.

  • My phone had a typical iPhone breakdown and this video helped me take the thing apart and get it back together. A BIG thank you to you!

  • WTF ??? do you have to go trough all this just to change a freaking mobile phone battery. Thanks for the video making things clear, man that is the most stupidest mobile construction I ever seen, you have to use tools to change a freaking mobile battery WTF ??? It's a joke to call Iphone for a smartphone

  • fucking apple bullshit...

  • Really helped. Thanks.

  • What the fuck ever happened to just opening up the back of a cellphone, and finding the battery by the SIM card?...this is too much.

  • @SuicideYourSelfPleas Those days and those non smartphones are long gone.

  • @suicideYOurselfplease, not true, this really only applies to iPhones and a few other Smartphones on the market, most smart phones make it easy to replace your batteries.

  • ahh forget my last comment. it was easier than i thought:) just remove the screw and lift the camera lens...

  • It's easy until u have to connect the last removed connector next to the sim slot. Very tricky to put it back. video tutorial should include how to connect it back the easiest way.

  • thank you

  • This video just saved me about 20 bucks on battery replacement. Thank you!

  • @truesun000 No problem and glad we could help.

  • @truesun000 heeey how much is a battery ? :|

  • @VasiColor No problem the current battery price is listed on the webpage at DirectFix com

  • I need help. I changed the battery and all and put everything back together. I plug it in to charge for the first time with the new battery and hear the charging chime but I see nothing on the screen and I'm not sure if its actually working or not. Did I miss something here? Thanks

  • @InitialXG It sounds like when you put it back together one of the cables did not get seated correctly. Try to re-seat all the cables again. If that does not fix it contact our customer service department via the webpage contact form at DirectFix com

  • thank you so much i only had a little trouble with putting it back together the camera tap keep coming off the motherboard but i got it finally ..... thanks so so so much i will stick with u guys

  • THANKS very very good Video

  • You should use a suction cup to suck up the screen from the motherboard stuff

  • @Adrian51524 We agree. Take a look at our directions with the suction cup.

  • awesome man thanks a ton ..............

  • I would like to know when you recommend to change the battery of your Iphone?

  • @gnomopocho You should change the battery when you feel that the battery is not lasting as long as it was when you purchased it new.

  • THANKS IT HELPS ME TO CHANGE MY BATTERY!

  • THANKS A LOT MAN!! SAVED MY TIME AND DOLLAR!

  • everything work out perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no problems at alll, great instructions

  • I can't believe I did this by myself!! I agree about those damn connectors! I had the hardest time putting the 1st one back on. At first I thought it was connected and I turned it on and the touch screen would not work! I had to take a deeeeeep breath and take screen back off and put the first connector on properly then... Nothing but smiles from me!! Thanks to YouTube!!!!!!

  • this guy can unscrew screws fast! :O :D

thanks for this vid! I like helpful videos! :)

  • Did it, and it worked famously.

By far, the hardest part was fitting the connectors back where they belong (worth its own video). Not that it's complicated. But if you're old (check), have bratwurst fingers (check), and so-so vision (check), it's a challenge to get the pins to line up and snap in; especially the camera connector (the one you start with on re-assembly). Then, keeping 5, 6, 7, and 4 flopped back while you simultaneously set the motherboard is it's own puzzle.

    Thanks!

  • hey pdaparts i droped my iphone 3gs down the toilet the other day now it don't work i was wondering if replaceing the battery would bring it back to life :

  • @dragonsxshadow Long story short probably not. Most of the time water damage can cause multiple parts to go bad.

  • Worked flawlessly! Thanks for the walkthrough! :)

  • Thanks for the video... Worked like a charm

  • Thank you! Me and Buddy just replaced both of our 3GS batteries. Worked perfect! btw.. for anyone interested... you do not have to restore after installation. My jailbreak was still intact!

  • hmmm I use to change out batteries on the 1st gen ipod touches. Remember having to solder those beast. Good that apple doesn't have a direct connection to the batteries anymore. This actually looks feasible

  • Thanks for this guide - very helpful

  • thank yoU! cheers!

  • Great video thanks.

  • l no whare to look if i need to change mu iphone Battery :)

  • I just replaced my battery with the help of this video. Turned out good. Saved alot of money. It took about an hour to do. I'm very happy. Thanks so much.

  • could the 3gs battery be used to replace the 3g battery. Good upgrade or it a different connector?

  • The 3GS Battery can be used in the 3G but the difference you will get is not enough for the hassle and price.

  • dude my iphone wont turn at all or charge, is that cause of a dead battery
