@onecircle1 Have you ever been there? MILLIONAIRES go to St. Barts, it's like a once in a lifetime trip. My family is lucky enough to be able to go every year, but I'm sure there are alot of people who would take our place any day. St. Barts is an amazing island, everything about it.
There's PEOPLE on the beach at the end of the runway.
I once saw on TV a runway like this except they had big airline jets coming in instead, and when they'd come in they'd be no less than 20 off the beach. They had it marked as a warning, and if anyone DID get decapitated, neither the pilot nor the airport would be responsible.

@Q8yGodfather ok we gonna tell all those who have dangerous runways in their country to close them... No more connection flight between most of the islands in the world and mountainous terrain and even to some big city's like Hong Kong, Osaka, Madeira, and so on... Tell me about it... And now FLOAT to the Caribbean for like 10 days stay over for 3 days and back, no more vacation left, spent most of your time on perhaps a low cost shitty boat traveling concept...
umm, actually its not a death trap, and in fact ESPECIALLY in an engine failure on final or short final, because the slope basically provides a glideslope for the damaged plane. that could actually help.
@HongKongBoyz100 i disagree with this entirely, you can do a dive approach at almost any airport if you feel so inclined, this is a dangerous approach for so many reasons. there are people hanging out at the end of the runway which is ridiculous, there are videos of airplanes going off the end of this runway on youtube. those people would be toast.
@itsumonihon i disagree with me too lol. i didnt write that i share an account. but still in the history of st barts there's only been one crash.... ever

the biggest jackass designed this runway. steep hill with humans/cars on one side and river on the other...a death trap in the event of engine failure during landing/takeoff. i want to find the retard who designed this.
It was probably the only place on the island an airport could be built. Shut your stupid face up. I hate morons like you who don't know what they're talking about.
Not Netherland Antilles, but French West Indies like Guadeloupe, Martinique and half of Saint-Martin (in French). Sint Maarten in Dutch (SXM). If you want the total thrill: Land in SXM with AF or KLM 747, fly to SBH, fly back to Saint-Martin (very cool venturi) then Saba is a must. Everything at 35 minutes flight max :-)
Awesome video. That is a true test of short field skills.Landing there takes some serious stones, not to mention a special checkride from the government.Being able to do it on your computer does not count.
What's the first plane called

The last plane, was it a Carib Air DHC-6?
pianomansas 1 year ago
I wouldn't stand at the end of the runway, it's a quite dangerous airport and it wouldn't be the first time a plane overshoots the runway..
