I know he started an idiot designed to make Rose look good and show what she was leaving behind but not long after becoming a real companion he out grew Rose and the Doctor so that makes him one of the best in my opinion. And Noel's an actor/writer who'll live passed his time on the show.
Jake has such an adorable accent. Poor guy.
I love Mickey. He has such wonderful character development.
