I have a question please help me. What is this so call Silverlight (what is good for). I hear a lot of people set is better that "Flash" (Adobe Flash Player?). Is for the same thing? If I have Flash can Silverlight work? HELP ME PLEASES :D

@LuisRodriguezGuzman Adobe Flash player runs all the multimedia content on most of the websites including Youtube.These videos are run through flash player. Silverlight is counterpart of it. Or we can say competitor.Although it is not widely used like flash player.

There is however a half baked clone version going by Novell, but only under their shady agreement. Microsoft threatens Linux companies with patent infringements without disclosing what is being infringed upon.

But end of day, the websites using Silverlight just don't work on Linux.

Flash is truly cross platform, and just works. No need to digress into a proprietary evil.

No, but Apple and MS are tying to push proprietary video formats to become the defacto standard, google was doing the same thing but they're goign to make the VC-8 format open... don't know if they're good or bad yet.

Firefox and some other browsers support OGG which is open.

Silverlight must not need to VS Editor for coding. And this suite must improved more. Like Adobe's Flash everything must control at one center programme and that must be cheap, nobody wants to buy VS to edit Sl similar tech.
