  • That is likely RFI. Listen in AM mode -- not SSB. It definitely sounds digital so it's like a consumer device in your home or at a neighbors home. Ethernet switches, routers, wi-fi routers, plasma TVs, light dimmers, alarm systems, etc -- can all create RF issues. If you can, walk around the house with the radio and you can probably isolate it. Look at some of my videos and you'll hear some various types of RFI.

  • @cnick6 That is what I thought at first too. Nothing in my house made that transmission for sure, I also have 2 other short videos of things I heard around the same time. I'll try and upload those.

  • @Redsoxfanphil If you can, turn the power off in your home -- that's one way to be completely sure. But yes, could very easily be coming from a neighbor. Take a short walk around the neighborhood and you may be able to isolate it. Here's another question: have you tried another portable AM radio? Does it also pick up the noise?

  • @cnick6 Yes I heard it on two other AM broadcast radios. One portable and the 1 in my car. Each at different locations.
