  • Ha! Finally, another juicer! The reason people juice celery is because it's essentially nature's gatorade (there's a ridiculous amount electrolytes in it.) It tastes terrible. Don't do it. Just eat a banana every now and then. This part is really important; fat soluble vitamins require fat to be absorbed. Add a teaspoon of warm coconut oil or flax seed oil to your juices. If it separates too much, throw in some liquid lethicin too. Also, Bilberry is better for your eyes than carrots.

  • Pineapple and carrots, sounds weird, I know, but trust me it's good :)

  • Carrots have beta caroteine which is essential for your eyesight to stay healthy, so it isn't an urban myth wensdal

  • Spinach, strawberries and a banana taste really good together!! My fav for making green smoothies anyway. Kale is also really good!

  • you should just blend it all together, so you get your dose of fiber too. the fiber will fill you up so more and make you less likely to eat other stuff

    kale and cucumber juice is delicious

  • 1 1/2 medium sized oranges

    1 medium sized banana

    5 medium sized strawberries

    a handful of blackberries

    4-5 small carrots

    blackberries are even better for your eyes than carrots

    you might also instead of the oranges add a cup or so of milk so it'll be sweet instead of citrus.

  • I def want to get a juicer as an easy way to balance my diet, but I don't have funds for one atm. For weight loss, I would suggest anything high in fiber and antioxidants :) Really though, if you replace sugary foods with fruits and veggies, you should drop any extra weight uber fast!

  • I make smoothies inthe morning with a frozen banana and some mixed frozen berries some soymilk and a couple handfuls of spinach! They are off the charts :)

  • Spinach is better for your eyes than carrots. Carrots being good for your eyes is actually a myth. I eat carrots anyway, love 'em.

  • I also have a Jack Lalanne juicer... And I love it =) I found this in a juicing book.. it helps your skin with ance and it taste's good too! (I make it every other day) 1 - whole GREEN apple 2 - think slice's of Pineapple annnd 1/2 - of a Cucumber

  • If you want to lose weight have 8 ounces of Grapefruit juice with the juice of one orange for breakfast..That's what I do..it's supposed to speed up your metabolism...and also, remember when juicing, it's VERY important to drink LOTS of water

  • I love making veggie juice with spinach, kale, celery, tomato, carrot, garlic and jalapeno ala Spicy Hot V8 but my favorite juice is carrot with vanilla soy milk. It tastes like a milk shake!

  • we have that exact same juicer in my house. and we had the same problem when we first started using it HAHA :) it was so crazy. I personally don't like the taste of celery (at all) in my juice. There's a strange aftertaste in my juice when i put celery in it, so i always eat some fruit after my mom puts celery in my juice.

  • Fresh juice can be a part of a healthy diet, but it is actually better to eat the whole fruits and vegetables, because you get the fibre and it fills you up more.

  • If you really want to lose weight most efficiently... try a healthy diet AND excersize. Joining the gym would be a great idea... and it might sound tough but once you start doing it, it really tones and helps lose weight :) Good luck!!

  • I have the same juicer...I looooove it. So yummy. Just be careful in using it for weight loss...its good to have the vitamins but with the juice you aren't getting the fiber which is KEY in weight loss. Still good for you just don't rely on it too much....I learned the hard way lol. =)

  • celery has alot of vitamin K and also ALOT of fiber. eating the celery straight up would be a lot better than putting it in the juicer.

  • Beets and greens are always really good to put in juices, mostly for the nutrition factor. And if you're worried it won't taste good, putting in an apple always makes it great.

  • I really like V8 fusion (: I hate most veggies so it's really good for me because every 8 oz glass has a serving of fruits & veggies.. and all you can taste is the fruit.

  • u can also hide fruits and veggies by purre(?)ing them and putting them in like pizza crust and baked goods and even use them as like sandwich spreads theres a cook book about it that sienfelds wife did... it was on opera yrs ago... but its kinda like juicing so i thought i would pass on the knoledge and maybe itll help u some more

  • Leesha- cutting out sugar is the way to go. You'll lose weight even without exercise. I've been off sugar for 4 months- the only thing is that you must go cold turkey and analyse each and every label for sugar in its every form. Watch out with juices- they contain a lot of sugar without the fiber. Carrots, for example, have so much sugar in them. Just browse the internet and you'll find many blogs on cutting sugar out (if that's what you chose to do). Good luck! You can do it!

  • juicing fruit isn't that good because there's a lot of sugar in fruit and if you juice it and drink it, the sugar will go faster through your body and directly into your blood. So if you do it often you can get diabetes in a few years (if you're gonna overdo it of course)

  • You actually bought a Jack LaLane jucier ? Jack LaLane is insane you know ? When I was a kid Jack LaLane had a TV show where he did exercises, and all the housewives would sit around and watch him do the exercises, and not bother to do the exercises themselves.

  • and yes all the carpets got ripped up and removed after the last cat mess. we decided for sterilizing the house sake (because of toxic plasmosis - which i can't spell) when i was heavily pregnant that to find a new home for my cats was best so sadly that's what happened to them but they are very happy with their new owners.

  • Oh god, celery juice is so disgusting... I was on a juicer kick for a while, and I made celery juice.. so...nasty. Carrot juice is <3 though.

  • I like to make smoothies more often then actually jucing but the tastes can be similar at times and i think adding pineapple, strawberries and a banana makes everything taste great :)

    plus if you are jucing alot of carrots, juice them first and then clean out the pulp catcher and put all the carrot pulp into a bowl to set aside, all that pulp makes great carrot cake that goes well with tea or coffee cause its drier :) little tip we figured out and love!

  • I have the same juicer, you gotta try oranges with apples & oranges with carrots delish! i also like strawberries blueberries & pineapple for veggies, i like celery, carrots, tomatos & throw some apple yum yum yum! i also use juices to make my smoothies so much more tasty!

    And since I know someone said this, tomato is in fact a vegetable. It's the fruit of the vegetable plant. Makes sense, eh? My life management (home economics basically) teacher told me that. . .

  • Two tips one. Fruit also contains sugar remember even tho it's healthier than a candy bar you can still have too much sugar again. and I do believe you have well over the recommended amount of fruit in a day in this video. Two Celery is comprised of mostly water so you aren't really getting anything from it other than water, so I wouldn't count that as a vitamin if you are looking to get more vitamins from veggies. :) just helpin ya out!

  • its not really juicing but if you blend, orange juice frozen black berries, blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries, it makes a really good healthy-ish frozen treat

  • Tomato = a fruit, veggies don't have seeds :P

    And I don't understand why people just drink the juice instead of eating the vegetables and fruits. Yes, you get the vitamins, but there's more good-for-you stuff in the skins of your apples (which gets separated by the juicer). Plus with juice you also get all the calories from the sugars in the juices without the substance from the cellulose (the fibers that give the plants form and keep our poo movin' :P).

  • I love juicing. But I wanted to let you know that you should never ever juice the seeds of any fruits. They contain Cyanide which is a poison as you probably know.

  • Fruits contain fructose, although an ameliorating factor is that whole fruits also contain vitamins and other antioxidants that reduce the hazardous effects of fructose.

    Juices, on the other hand, are nearly as detrimental as soda, because a glass of juice is loaded with fructose, and a lot of the antioxidants are lost.

  • It is important to remember that fructose alone isnt evil as fruits are certainly beneficial. But when you consume high levels of fructose it will absolutely devastate your biochemistry and physiology. Remember the AVERAGE fructose dose is 70 grams per day which exceeds the recommend limit by 300 percent.

    So please BE CAREFUL with your fruit consumption.

  • It sounds like you already know this, but I'm gonna write it anyway, just incase: you gotta be careful with juiceing because you can add a lot of extra sugar to your diet. w/juice you take-in all the sugar and none of of the fiber so you can consume more sugar w/out getting full. Anyway, you just need to be really aware of what you juice, and try to juice more veggies than fruits. Green juices and smoothies are sooo good for you.

  • Pineapple is my favorite fresh fruit juice, its even delish the next morning. ALSO check out Ani Phyo's youtube page for healthy, nutrient rich desserts. They are a little weird at first, but once you get used to it, you'll love them! xoxo
