the first time I saw and heard Michael was impressed with his genius. A great, great pianist, a great artist who will never be forgotten. Really miss this amazing musician. A friend and admirer of Brazil.
excelente señor , porque es un gran señor , no se rindio a pesar de todo, sus defectos los convirtio en sus oportunidades para sobreponerse y ser una persona de exito.
Great music and musician.A Genius who went till the end of his passion, gave everything to his audience.THis music just makes me shiver and fly.I listened to it when i was eighteen or nineteen.
I am not sure, but I think, he is mixing something from Julian Joseph with Carla Bley, they both have some tunes that could fit into here: Carla Bley and Steve Swallow in "Masquerade part 3" at Duets maybe and Julian Joseph in "Dance in a perfect World" at Reality, but this ist just a guess (I think in the beginning and also at 5:15 I hear a line out of Julian Josephs "Dance in a perfect World")
Would be very interested into it too !! Maybe Steve Gadd can help us out ;)
Più ascolto e scopro Michel più mi rendo conto che i miracoli esistono. La sua bravura si manifesta sopra ogni nota musicale. E' stato un grande, è stato un dono di Dio, grazie. Renzo
i saw this video almost ten years ago, it marked my childhood i guess :)), that was the first time i began to love and understand jazz, seeing it now again is absolutely incredible...dammit this man was an artist :))
I don't think I was talking to you. My problem? I'm an inconsiderate prick, but somehow the author agreed with me and removed his post. So you might as well take your foul mouth elsewhere.
ps. You don't know me half as well as you deserve, I am much worse than what you call me. But then again, you must believe in God really hard and read the bible every day and pray that things aren't as bad as the news says.
R.I.P Mike. This is one of my all time favorite tunes, which I once heard on the NYC Jazz station, CD 101.9. Watching this live version, and comparing it to the musically recorded version, I really love the way Petrucciani and the band improvise much of this one.
I've heard youtube is starting to mute copyrighted music... I really really hope they're not going to destroy one of the best resource for obscure Jazz stuff you basically can't find anywhere else, for sale or otherwise... crossing my fingers... This song is so amazing... LOVE it.
I have this CD but i never seen a video o that concert... Michel was the best!! And i love this beautiful piece of art. I know... Never will be someone that fills the space that michel petrucciani has left..
the drums arent tuned correctly for this type of song. BUT, that's ok, because the drums are tuned to a jazz setting. I'm they would sound amazing tuned proparly in studio setting. again, gadd is god.
Music is legal drug for sure

His loss was a tragedy for anyone who loved his music.
I was always struck by his very apparent love for listening to the other players, as much as he was playing himself.
His love for the music was an open-door invitation for all of us to enjoy it as much as he did.
