  • i like the movie

  • Is this movie scary?

  • @JosephStalin11 a little

  • is it good?

  • Great movie

  • OMG.me and my friends were trying to watch sailor moon abridged in art (we had free time)

and the teacher came over witha DVD of this and another anime to watch.IT WAS AWESOME!

  • Love the private eye! Makes the whole movie look like a noir masterpiece

  • Quarity izu abizumaru

  • This is just one of the best movies ever :D !!LOVE IT!!!

  • ロックかっこいい

  • the graphic is more like Astroboy American Version ^_^

  • @shitlessass 1) Astroboy was only dubbed by English voices and changed for American viewers, there was never an American Version.

2)The movie is based off a manga from the same guy who created Astroboy, thus the similarity

  • This movie makes Fritz Lang do whirlybirds in his grave.

Why is it, in Anime, do all white people have saucer-sized eyes? Racist, I say! RACIST!

  • Shut up! That's why!

  • "This movie makes Fritz Lang do whirlybirds in his grave."

I'm sure the same is happening to Osamu Tezuka.

  • Why do you say that? Even though animes quite limited in its individual aspects I don't think that he'd be rolling in his grave.

  • "Why do you say that? "

Because Tezuka was against a movie being made of this, and it doesn't follow his story.

  • @Fabio254 Yeah but its a combo of both the German Metropolis, and Osamu's Metropolis. While both of these are good stories, I do think that this movie does manage to take elements from both stories and turn it into something awesome. So big deal is isn't Tezuka's vision. From what I can tell, I doubt the man would go Alan Moore over it.

  • I doubt it. Then why do you bother watching this trailer and writing a (shitty) comment? So much time on your hands?

  • I'm not follow what you're even talking about.

  • I don't know what you're talking about.

  • Its not racist, its just a typical fad in Japan, this film being an adaptation of Tezukas manga means that it has barely anything to do with Fritz film, I've read a page in a book from Tezuka himseelf stating that he took the name and a robot design, nothing else.

  • " this film being an adaptation of Tezukas manga means that it has barely anything to do with Fritz film"

Except that it follows Fritz's story more than Tezuka's manga.

  • Oh, then why does it use Tezukas characters?

  • Sorry if I sounded snobby, I agree with what you've said, though why did Tezuka oppose an adaptation and where'd you read that?

  • I don't know why Tezuka didn't want a movie made, but I heard the people working on it say that he didn't in the bonus features of the DVD.

  • Not always.

  • @OriginalRocketJock You'd speak for a dead man? What a waste of a voice.

  • omg no anime... you all go out and watch the original german "Metropolis" from 1927...

  • The original is always the best, of course. I love Fritz Lang. But this movie is also very well done. Don't degrade it just because it's anime. The original manga was by Osamu Tezuka-sama, who has influenced much of the modern animated movies in the world, I think you should respect that.

  • I do what I want, I know movies more than you'll ever know.

  • i bet all the anime geeks are dying to see this movie

  • Since Metropolis is from 2001, I think "anime geeks" (who don't LOVE every anime they see, dumbass) already have seen it.

  • sup kenneth

  • geez, that trailer pretty much spoils the entire movie.

  • it is spoiler-laden, but even though I own the movie and have watched a number of times, its still very moving

  • Um...can anybody tell me where I can find the movie on the Internet? I've been trying to find it but all I get are trailers and a bunch of random stuff...

  • Which country do you live in?

  • Canada x) I live in southern Ontario, hopefully you've heard of it

And no, it's not as cold here as everyone thinks, in case you're wondering. Yesterday it was 38 degrees Celsius

  • ive seen this movie, its so sad *sobs*

  • I remember when the old man said it took him all his life to finish that ultimate weapon (the little girl) then that jerkoff kid goes and shoots him and tries to destroy everything I wanted to kill him as if I did all that work lol.

  • I've only seen this version. Then dad told me about the old one of which I've only seen snippets but I thinks it's a great reworking of an older story

  • The Campbell Soup Kid's in the Matrix???

  • I would see that movie in a second.

  • OI! I have to see this movie now. It looks friggin sweet.

  • Ozamu Tezuka is amazing!

  • Tezuka didn't write the anime version. Some other guy killed the plot of the mnanga.

  • not this movie no. But most of the characters and such are his. He was dead when this movie was made. That's the only reason it was able to BE made because he wouldn't have allowed it otherwise.

  • send it plizzz

  • gotta get a dvd of this...

having seen the film, isnt this trailer a little.... spoilerish? or is that just how trailers are in Japan?

  • yeah pretty much

  • ah. k then. Oh, and i got me DVD. Best purchase i ever made!!

Double disc version; film in English and Japanese, trailers, and a craploada documentary stuff. havent had the time to watch all of that yet :P

  • Metropolis is such a sad movie...

  • BEST... MOVIE... EVER...

  • I finally found it! I saw it a long time ago but could never remember the name, it made me so sad...

  • This anime is based on Tezuka's manga.

It's amazing how Tezuka's world is so diversified.

  • Not the plot, just the characters. He looked, examined, and devoluped many ways to draw eyes, noses, and hair for characters rather than sticking with one style.

  • I got this on DVD. I'd like to post it; but the DVD player is not working right. Anyway, I'm not that much into this movie. It is a pretty nice show; but I'm thinking about selling the DVD I got.

  • oh yeahhhhhhhhhh!

  • You want it?

  • i saw it on tv n it was AWESOME. i want to see it again but cant find it!!! can someone plzz tell me where to find or watch it..

  • The best anime film.

Recomended for everybody, you can lease it everywere

    (sorry my bad english)

  • This gold hair is a boy ? El niño rubio es un chico o lo parece?

  • es una chica, se llama Tima, no, no hay yaoi aqui xD

  • heh it's not a quote, I mean the song almost at the ending when all falls, that's how it's called "I can't stop loving you" by Ray Charles. It's such a wave of emotions ;___;

  • yi its tragic, scary, and romantic at the same time ;_; I wish I could see it again

  • I know... specially at the " I can't stop loving you" part ;0; it's amazing

  • i... dont know the quotes cause of which I havent seen it in years. THough I do remember one sad thing at the last part of the movie where the girl spoke out in a radio or somthin

  • its sad, but not only sad, i dont know how to say it ... i just finished seeing it again, the best word would be bittersweet ( i guess, if it can be described in one word)

  • she said... who am I? (also her last words)

  • @eERIechan Just search for Metropolis ending scene in youtube :)

  • can someone post up this movie?

  • i recomend this movie 2 anyone who hasent seen it yet it's a great movie.
