Beautiful. I recently purchased a drone from Jonah Thompson off ebay. The flute has beautiful sound. I have to be careful not to overblow and end up with notes/sounds I don't want. I'm used to playing european flute which requires much more forceful blowing....can't play one anymore due to a cancer surgery. I have many gt-grandmother's who were Native American and this seemed fitting. Keep playing and posting. So beautiful to listen to. -:)
@rkng1 Sincerest thanks for this comment! The Kuzin Bruce Em drone is an effortless flute to play. I've also no doubts that the Jonah Thompson drone you bought will provide soothing, healing sounds with the minimum of breath. All the best to you on your Native American flute journey. You may be surprised by what you learn as you walk the road. ~ Blessings!
Love the sound, I'm looking for a drone flute for my friends birthday, any suggestions on a good place to purchase one online? Thank you, and the music was beautiful, Dawn
@piriajeoshi Dear Bruce, I would also love to see what @a0e0roberts makes with feathers, elk teeth, and 'instruments that hold his attention". The whole process of grace giving birth to grace (which is what happens when you share and others pick it up and makes it their own) makes me smile deeply in my heart and I know the teary feeling all is right in our beautiful world.
nesecito como fabricar este maravilloso instrumento... es el uniko ke puede apaciguar mi ira y renkor!! si es posible mandar los pasos para poder konstruirlo!!
@dallgurack Thank you kindly for the great comment! Actually, I didn't make this flute, & I don't have any such flute-making instruction manuals. However, you can try Russ Wolf's book "Flute Shop - A Guide to Crafting the Native American Style Flute" from amazon.com. He shows how to make different NA flutes including a drone flute. Hope this is helpful to you! Peace ~ Bruce
@5tonyvvvv These drones are modern creations. I'm not even sure that Native Americans such things at all, but it is certainly possible. As far as carving the wood, I know that some Native Americans used beaver teeth for this job (a guy named Hawk Henries still does to the best of my knowledge). Makes sense when you think about it as the beaver's incisors are perfectly adapted to slice into wood.
You have given me a lot of inspiration. I'm going to find a nice piece of quarter-sawn cedar and build one of these (the only instruments that hold my attention for long are those I build myself). I should send you some fethers or elk teeth to dress your flute up with...
@a0e0roberts : Well if that isn't one of the nicest comments I've had! You honor me with your words, and I humbly thank you. Please send some pics of the flute when you're finished making it as I love to see what others create. Feathers... elk teeth... hehe.... Bring em' on!
MAN im so glad your back doing videos, i love all the flutes you play, you make them sound so haunting, i just started few months ago, I just bought a low d flute i posted a song i made up.

That was beautiful. Amazing reverb from the tunnel too, I thought it was an add on after the recording.
