It doesn't stop, the owner set the overspeed warning to 90mph, but you can set it as high as 120mph or just turn it off. The digital speedo comes back on about 5 seconds after the overspeed warning.
Most new hondas have them too. Name one domestic that has had this LCD. none, and if it does, it probably needs to have the 90mph warning before it can be approved.

Just FYI, as someone mentioned earlier, you can set that warning to come on at any speed you want or turn it off completely.
The computer itself in that car is not American, it's pulled straight out of the car which is from Australia...
