the it's-a-phase argument always make me angry, and is part of the reason why I haven't told that many people that I'm bi. I just don't have the patience to have that discussion over and over again.
I like you all, period, why is that so hard to understand.
And yeah, gay people have a great ability to hurt too. I've just got out of a relationship with a lesbian, guess who went fooling around with other girls: her. Guess who got hurt: me, the bisexual one.
I don't understand why some gays have problems with bis or don't like them. I'm gay too, and I want to be treated respectfully by other people. Every gay girl I know wants that too. Why would we treat bis or trans or whatever without respect? If we do so, we don't deserve being treated respectfully as well. And being treated like shit sucks. For all people
Speaking as a straight guy, I'd say that bisexuals are pretty lucky bastards. They've got twice as much choice as all the rest of us do when you think about it!
The funny thing that straight and gay people have in common is that they're both limited to feeling attracted to just one side of the spectrum. Bisexuals get to fish in the entire pool as they want.
i really wanted to choose one of both and i tried so much, but i can't.i can't cause this is no choice and i cannot take one or the other.I just like both, whether i want it or not.I can't help it.And i stopped feeling bitter about it a long time ago
So true! I hate it when people tell me bisexuality is just a phase! :( Once I got so angry I almost attacked my father because he couldn't stop saying it's a phase! :( And I regret ever thinking about attacking him cuz he is and always will be my father and I love him. But sometimes I think his love is conditional :(.
lol my ex-gf told me that when i'm still with her, i might be going out with a bunch of guys when i told her that i'm bi... (i just wanted to kill her that time).
now i'm a shy and a quiet guy in real life and as being bi, i hate the damn stupid taboo that if someone's bi then s/he is going to be having sex relationships with the opposite sex one's dating..
I hate it when ppl says that we bi ppl can't decide and are going through a 'phase' and that one's going to have 3somes once one's bi...
Yep. That's basically what happened to me when I tried to label myself as just gay or straight.I went apeshit bonkers. I'd convince myself I just liked girls, and then I would like a guy, which would lead me into convincing myself I was straight, but I would still be confused as to why a "straight person" still liked girls.
i want to just. . . give you a huge fucking hug! and possibly create a way to like the video multiple times. thank you. thank you. thank you. my god. thank you.
My question to you is would you date me assuming you are attracted to me as a bi presenting as a girl if you found out that by birth I was a guy since you are a lesbian and prefer only women?

I am a bisexual woman and I just want to say, thank you. I am having trouble with a few things now, including coming out to everyone, and this makes me feel better.

@bigapple2625 You know being gay isnt against the bible. I read once a year and have never spotted a gay comment in the bible. Everyone is a sinner you know, you may not believe it but it is, everyone does something that goes against the bible someway somehow so it really doesnt matter to who people date thats just a part of life not the whole.
You should really talk about the topic of pansexuality and gender-blindness. I think this would be a good topic to go along with the bisexual talks. :)
I totally agree, people see bisexuals as if they had the plague or something. I am totally cool with bisexuals and think they are awesome and I have lots of friends who are bi too.
What people don't realize is that there is always A, B and an in between. Like, there is Black and White, but Gray too.
It's funny, because they have an estimate that only 4% of the population is fully straight/gay.
It's like that when I mention I'm pan[romantic], people are like "Oh, so you'll screw anything?" and I'm like "...I have no sex drive...what the hell"
would please ask your gf to write something for u to read on her views on bi sexual issues so we can get back that part we lost when lu left .we would love to hear her views and respect that she doesn't want to be on camera .see if she would make this compromise?
Other person: Yeah, you're still a fucking faggot ass queer dipshit.
Or...
Person or Friend: You're not bi, you just think you are.
It seems people are afraid of Bisexual people, like people are afraid of fetishes, so to other Bisexual people; don't let them get to you, deep down they're just scared. xD
Seriously, it's common to make fun of, or push aside what one is afraid of or does not understand. :P
Which shampoo do you use? LMAO, SHOVE IT and all. But I want to know if you use a cleaner with sodium lauryl (or laureth) sulfate. just curious! oh, hahaha, just curious.
I love the Shove it movement that you were talking about!! Finally, someone in the GLBT community that TRULY supports bisexuals!! We need more of people like you! Bisexuals definitely have a hard time in the middle between the gays and the straights. I mean come on, where do we as bisexuals stand anyway if no one can understand us? I LOVE everything that you've said in your vid! Keep doing it and keep rockin'!!
oh thank u mama b it's the same thing with pansexuals ,we need to embrace diversity in this rainbow family because we don't fit neatly into one label . and lu if u are watching this please do a video response we miss your input to this channel!
SHOVE IT!!! Oh my god thank you so much!! Nobody understands that I can be bi.. So instead I would have to tell guys I'm straight or tell girls I'm lesbian. Why can't I just be both!! Its sucks, I love both genders!! Equally, emotionally and physically. I've been in love with a girl, & been in love with a guy. It was great, & I just hope people could just understand that.
Thank you so much!!! It's so hard to be bi sometimes! So many people tell you it doesn't exist, gay and straight. So much so, that I find myself constantly analyzing my feelings, going back and forth 'I like men' 'I like women' 'I'm so confused!' It drives me crazy that the pressure to be one or the other is so intense coming from all sides. Thank you SO much for your support!! And thanks for dating a Bi girl!!!
Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it [is] abomination.
Romans 1: 26 For this cause YHVH gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
@derekdb2 yeah, because you TOTALLY follow ALL the rules of the this thousand year old book called the bible. Have you stoned your neighbors and sold your daughter into slavery too?
I'm so glad you released this video after another beaver's video while back that was seeminly the opposite to this, while everyone else was being diplomatic about it all!
Actually i was just thinking... I feel part of the gay community feels threatened and almost jealous of those who seem to have the ability to just cross over to the heteroland of social normality at the drop of a hat. I identify as a proper lezzy-lezbo, and no matter who i'm with my sexuality seems to be always on show, whereas bisexuals can almost hide from it whilst not actually hiding- does that make sense? Not that i think it's right, i'm just trying to evaluate haha :) xxx
Plus I used to identify as bisexual, and I think they deserve to be well and part of the whole community. Isn't that the point? that we welcome the people who are ostracised from society due to their sexuality? I'm pretty sure a lot of lesbians have seen a guy once in a while and thought, "well dayuuum." Ugghh. It's so stupid. I LOVE BISEXUALS!!! YAYYY!!
i really enjoyed your video this week and total agree with the point that bi's get discrimination from both sides. I identify as lesbian and am currently dating a bi woman......i think if i had any preconcieved ideas about bis i would have missed out on making a beautiful connection with an amazing woman!
I kinda take a more 'zen' approach to the whole thing, my response usually is "so what if it's a phase, it's the phase I'm going through right now, and I need you to be on board with that". As you say, sexuality is fluid, so who's to say I won't change in the future? I know I've changed in the past. since when is it a bad thing to change? I embrace it.
I so agree :) I've started saying that I'm pansexual because then people say, "what's that?" instead of the usual you can't make up your mind vileness. I figure it's more acurate anyway since I'm not an exact 50-50 split :)
I am reposting this on my blog, you absolutely rock for doing this. Every point you made, I keep nodding my head! :D Please make one for us transgendered people next! I am so happy you made this one! :D
Yes,Michelle! I'm so tired of these myths being taken in as truth. when I told one of my friends who's straight that I'm bi, he assumed that it would be my preference to be in a relationship with 2 people (a man and a woman, respectively at THE same time).I said absolutely not- I am a person who would be monogomous whether I was with a man or woman. he kept insisting that it couldn't be--that because I'm bisexual, its in my nature to be with 2 people in any given relationship--RUBBISH!
Just when I thought you couldn't get any more awesome, you make another "Mama on Bi" video! Why are there not more people in the world like you? During dinner today I burst out to my (Bi, yes, Bi) GF; "Seriously, why are there not more people in the world like Michelle from The Beaverbunch? If there were, we wouldn't have issues. People like her make the world a better place!". Yeah,I genuinely said that.
I just.. I.Love.You.So.Hard! Thank you, once again, Michelle. Much much Love,- Liz :)
@HeatherLovesNaomie I am totally gay for my girlfriend (and...OMG!...she and I are both bi). And when things start to go bad in a straight relationship, I usually blame it on the presence of a penis. In my last same sex relationship, I blamed it on the girl my gold star lesbian of a girlfriend left me for. Quit being prejudiced and try judging each woman on her own merits. Not all bisexuals suffer from internalized homophobia.
Yesterday was actually Celebrate Bisexuality Day, so good timing Michelle, and great video! =D As a lesbian, I'm kind of fearful of dating a bisexual, like, if she left me for a man, it would hurt more than if she left me for another woman. But really, (and your video made me realize this), if she left me (for another man OR woman), it would hurt equally-rejection is rejection regardless of gender.
Exactly! That irrational fear that a bisexual person is more likely to cheat on is ridiculous. Being bisexual doesn't make you more capable of cheating. Cheaters come in all different sexualities. I know so many lesbians who get so offended when an ex girlfriend starts dating a man...it just shows that they don't understand or respect their orientation. They let it affect their pride and it shouldn't.
I hate labels. really i do. dont get them. dont like them. basically when am asked what i say am me and thats that. its complicated but thats the best i can come up with.
This is a really good subject to pick. I absolutely hate when people say bisexuals don't exist or whatever, and I really do not understand why it happens so much in the gay community. I mean, we're gay: we know what it's like to face discrimination for being different; shouldn't we understand that it's okay for everyone to be different? Uggh...I don't know if I'm making sense, but that kind of thing really annoys me. So I'm with you on the shove it movement: great idea!
If asked i say i'm Bisexual, but thing is if you put a man & lady side by side i'd 100% of the time pick the lady, which would make me a lesbian but ive had male relationships & would again in the future, am attracted to men which would make me bisexual.
Guess is possible to be Bi but prefer women or men or one gender over the other but still relate as Bisexual.
Hypocrisy is i've declined men before on the pretense of being a lesbian, but i've also dated men because i think of myself as Bisexual
you know what? if people want to sleep around, they should. i think this should not be about proving a particular kind of sexuality exists. it should be about the freedom to make personal choices about sexuality, regardless of the reason.
@Minireb123 Hey there is no "but" here. We are talking about sexual freedom and being honest about who you are. By the way, I'm bisexual, too. But I am in a steady relationship with a woman for the last nine months. And I haven't as much as been attracted by anyone else -- man or woman.
I have a family that think "gays" are lying or confused or had some major problem with some past relationship that makes them totally hate the other sex now. They also think that it's just about the sex and that there are other ways of getting that, if that's their thing. Needless to say, I haven't told them I'm bisexual. It may not come up considering I've found a pretty awesome guy. He is totally into letting me have fun if I find a chick who is also into me. Which is awesome. I live with him.
GREAT VIDEO!!! Im bisexual myself but I havent ever dated anyone before. I'd prolly help if I were out too but im not yet. someone missed the like button lol.
Awesome video!! I would call myself bisexual, but I haven't had much experience at all with women. I have always dated men. I think the only reason why this is is because of my upbringing. Not once have I been taught to be homophobic, but it's always a lil taboo I guess you could say. So for this I think of myself as 'bicurious' for the fact that I don't know if I could see myself settling down in a les relationship, but I see women in the same beautiful light as men (if that makes sense).
@HeatherLovesNaomie I wasn't talking to you in particular and I didn't say all gays are cheats but I do know gay people that have cheated, just like straight people and bi people and any other kind of people. People cheat, it's nothing to do with their sexuality. I don't see how that's homophobic. It is biphobic when you tar a group of people with the same brush. I find it hard to imagine hearing a lezbian say she's gone off ladies because she has had a few bad experiences.
almost all my friends (including myself) are bisexuall some are more atracted to ther own gender and visa versa, I like guys alot more but in the long term I see myself in a lesbian relasionship (: Iv identified myself as gay (or straight ?<.<I'm a transgenderd girl) but then I fell in love with a girl.. me and the world was like wh00t? O_O so that was very odd but I was soo happy. I always hopt that I was bisexuall :P bisexuall is a sexuality and not a face or bullshit! Pease! <3 ps. *fav video
I have nothing against bisexuals but I wouldn´t date them. The fact that she likes a penis is a total turn off for me! I want a girl who is totally into girls and girls only.
@HappinessInaHug Are you serious about this biphobic thing?! Do you know what homophobia means at all?! Not wanting to date a bi girl has NOTHING to do with that!
Great vid thanks! I'm Bi and have had the rubbish from both sides. But the most cutting stuff for me has come from the gay community. I have NEVER cheated on a partner! and these days that seems rare in the gay or straight community. To me gender just doesn't come on my list of needs from someone (the list is long enough). And when people say "I like Bi's I just wouldn't date one" that's biphobic to me who ever they are! and biphobia is a close cousin to homophobia.
I remember when I came out that I was bi. I was 15 and all my friends kept saying that the only reason I was saying that I was, was because a few of my friends were and I was just trying to get attention. When I told that I was bi, I didn't know anyone else that was. It's frustrating when I get those negative reactions.
Woo hoo to bisexuals!! My girlfriend of 5 months is bi, and i have a lot of bi mates. actually i think i have more friends that are bi than are lesbians.
I think even those that act like they're hardcore str8 and oppress bisexuals ignore the possibility that they can be bi. I agree sexuality is not black and white. great video gurlie!x
Lovin' the passion you have for this topic Michelle!! Thank you for sticking up for us. The gay community doesn't seem to realize how hypocritical it is to judge bisexuals because they "can't relate". When will people learn that everything would be better if we erased the imaginary lines that seperate us? People are people, love is love. Thanks again for this video!! Instantly "favorited". ;o)

I'm a Bisexual guy and I get remarks like
Other person: You fucking fag'.
Me: Only half. :P

Bisexuals definitely have a hard time in the middle between the gays and the straights. I mean come on, where do we as bisexuals stand anyway if no one can understand us? Thank you so much!!! It's so hard to be bi sometimes! So many people tell you it doesn't exist, gay and straight. So much so, that I find myself constantly analyzing my feelings, going back and forth 'I like men' 'I like women' 'I'm so confused!' It drives me crazy that the pressure to be one or the other is so intense coming from all sides. Thank you SO much for your support!! And thanks for dating a Bi girl!!!

HARDCORE GAY HOMO LESBIANS!!! woot :)
YAYYY!!

Sep 23rd was Bi day actually.
I embrace it.
pete275 1 year ago
I so agree :) I've started saying that I'm pansexual because then people say, "what's that?" instead of the usual you can't make up your mind vileness. I figure it's more acurate anyway since I'm not an exact 50-50 split :)

Not all bisexuals suffer from internalized homophobia.
nonebutourselves 1 year ago
Yesterday was actually Celebrate Bisexuality Day, so good timing Michelle, and great video! =D As a lesbian, I'm kind of fearful of dating a bisexual, like, if she left me for a man, it would hurt more than if she left me for another woman. But really, (and your video made me realize this), if she left me (for another man OR woman), it would hurt equally-rejection is rejection regardless of gender.

JUSTALICEDUDE 1 year ago
They let it affect their pride and it shouldn't.

hellojello78 1 year ago
This is a really good subject to pick. I absolutely hate when people say bisexuals don't exist or whatever, and I really do not understand why it happens so much in the gay community. I mean, we're gay: we know what it's like to face discrimination for being different; shouldn't we understand that it's okay for everyone to be different? Uggh...I don't know if I'm making sense, but that kind of thing really annoys me. So I'm with you on the shove it movement: great idea!
pigeon309 1 year ago

I'd prolly help if I were out too but im not yet. someone missed the like button lol.
jennalovelove 1 year ago

HappinessInaHug 1 year ago
I remember when I came out that I was bi. I was 15 and all my friends kept saying that the only reason I was saying that I was, was because a few of my friends were and I was just trying to get attention. When I told that I was bi, I didn't know anyone else that was. It's frustrating when I get those negative reactions.
