In case people aren't familar, this appears to be indented to be a cross between "The Fugitive" and "Queen for a Day". They used to make fun of the latter on the radio show, when they would have people tell about their hard luck, and then give them wildly inappropriate gfts.
@zvi303 "The Fugitive" (if you mean the 1960s TV shows with David Janssen) was years later than this, so they wouldn't have had this (specifically) in mind,
When I was growing up, they had an afternoon show on WOR-AM in New York, and every Friday (we had no school Friday afternoon) I would listen to them do parodies of radio show the were canceled before I was born, and TV shows that quickly got canceled. I loved it.
In the late 70s, NBC aired a late night special with Bob and Ray paired with the three female cast members of Sat. Night Live: "Bob and Ray, Jane, Laraine, and Gilda". They did a rigged game show, a conversation with a 10 inch tall man, and Bob and Ray sitting down and doing a cover version of "Do You Think I'm Sexy". B&R (Ray is no longer with us) also did some radio for NPR in the 80s.
Where, how, when can I get more of these?! Very early on, Comedy Central used to show them. I need them. I will surely die without them. Help me rrgomes wan kenobi, you're my only hope.
Chris Elliot's Dad, I believe.
