  • nice transitions!

  • Worst system in the world. (British export...)

  • MISTRIAL. You do have to worry about it, because it was a hung jury, so the prosecution can retry it.

  • I like this video. I was writing a story, and part of it involves a court case so this one helped me for setting what normally happens in court.

  • one word: OBJECTION!!

  • Ummm, yeah, atually you're not entitled to a trial by jury. The numerous supreme court cases of the states and the US have upheld that right to trial by jury for "petty" offenses is not offered under the constitution. . . Look it up.

  • Did you get points off for misspelling testimonies?

  • Who decides whether to have a trial by jury or trial by judge, would it be the plaintiff or the defendant?

  • none of them, the law does.

Criminal Law is ALWAYS by jury.

  • I see, does that include Juvenile cases?

  • Juvenile im not sure if its criminal or civil to tell ya the truth. find out if juvenile is considered under criminal or civil. if its criminal, then its by jury. im guessing its civil . idk . sorry

  • Wrong.

  • Wrong.

  • About 1% of criminal cases actually go to trial. The process is fairly complicated, but typically the defendant in a criminal trial has the option for a jury trial or a bench trial.

    thanks

  • this is a great little how to video! mind if i use it in a speech i'm giving in school? i'm talking about court cases and would love to show this.
