You may need to finish the Civil War questline before pursuing the Main story much further, as there is a good chance you will encounter a bug that prevents you from interacting with Ulfric and/or Galmar after the very next time you speak with the Greybeards.

@andrewGhini Yeah, it's a common bug, it's happened to me a bunch, the best thing to do is make an independent save file, turn it to master difficulty and hit your companion until they have only a sliver of health then let them regenerate and they'll get up.

there was one time, I and Faendal were attacked then I killed every1 and Faendal was in the floor like Kharjo at 5:00. I though he would get up when his life was restored, but no, with full health, he started to crawling like a worm after me lol
