@Fitsmaurice no far from it. I absolutely hate factory "upgraded" audio systems. They are cheaply and lazily designed. Its no secret, bass is what people like in cars. whether it is booming down the block, or adding a little depth to the sound. car manufactures picked up on this, and started installing low grade crap audio systems with poorly built amplifiers that run too much bass to paper woofers. Great for 5 months then boom everything is blown. factory Monsoon, Fender, Infinity: all junk.

@blues03 thats exactly what i was thinking. well japan (lexus/toyota, subaru,) used harman/kardon. the rest nissan/infiniti, mazda, mitsubishi used BOSE. so japan uses american audio..lol

Will this car be classifed as sports insurance coverage, because of the 2.0 turbocharged engine, or would it still be classifed as a normal insurance rate, as an economy car.

I was planning on getting the gti 5 door, manual, but this came along the way. which one should i go for, any pointers? thanks guys!

I would stick to your original plan and go for the GTI, even if it's pricier. The GTI is built in Germany, and of course is based on the award-winning and class-leading Golf. The Jetta GLI, while a better car than the base Jetta, is built in Mexico for the North American market. Do yourself a favor and spend a few minutes in each car's cabin, and of course take a test drive. If you don't connect with how special the GTI feels, by all means go for the Jetta.

@TheSleepyGene i know, I own a lot of Fender gear :D it's great stuff but the fundamentals of guitar amps etc are very different from hi-fi. The system isn't made by Fender, its a Panasonic - don't really recall hearing great sound from them unfortunately

Kudos for VW for such an excellent brand alliance. Our 08 Jetta has been bulletproof and now with such excellent financing, we just may be coming back for the slightly larger Jetta GLI with this option. Rock on.

Fender sound system is just a feature more, I hope that isn't to expensive like all the additional features and accessories to add in VW models. I want the GLI more aggressive, sporty or performance. This ones are to classy and normal.

Change back the front body kit to the 2009 models, like VW GLI 09, Audi A3, A4 , A8

Dear Volkswagen / Fender Social Monitoring teams-

The next iteration of this Fender sound system should absolutely, 100% include a jack to actually plug a guitar into the dash. It's honestly pretty disappointing that Fender jumped into the car audio business without a unique feature like that.

VW as a vw/audi driver/fan im not happy, the Reg jetta se and sel should have been turbos like last year and if u was going to make a gli you could have made it look less boring. You guys need to hire me to design your cars cause i would have gave it a more aggressive front with l.e.d. lights with bi-xenon lamps and forgoodness sake vw can you do something with your hoods? your hoods are always plain, maybe a small air intake for the turbo and a higher blacked out diffuser and led tail lights
