he cannot imagine being friends with someone he loves so the suggestion itself seems like an insult. but even though he knows it's over he prays that what he heard is a lie and it is not what the other party truly feels or that these feelings will turn around (the words might betray the way you feel about me).

Personally for me it means that how the word friend is used today has nothing to do with it's actual meaning and people call others friends whenever it's convenient. Therefore insulting.

most of the of the more disrespectful words for genitalia, excrement or just purely offensive words are four-lettered (twat, arse - only to name the light ones). it's a metaphor in the song. in this particular one the guy is in love with someone and he's fishing for the words (so listening to every one words someone says looking for something of particular meaning).

the other person suggests breaking-up and being just friends. yet the only thing the guy hears is that this is the end.

@geraljosh Who gives a fuck? There are several interpretations. It could be that the "i" is silent or that it = "i end", or it could have to do with four letter words being slang for a cuss word, and he doesn't want to hear it.

Anyways, the song/AMV is amazing reguardless. It doesn't fucking matter.

There are 6 actually and they are all here on youtube cut into 3 parts each. There are the original japanese ones with english subtitles or the dubed episodes. I watched the dubed ones and thought they were all brilliant if a bit...strange.
