HTWW blocked me from commenting on his videos for merely criticizing one of his videos. I didn't say anything offensive but merely explained why I thought he was wrong. I thought he was all about American values such as freedom of speech? I guess not. Not when it is to his disadvantage.
I love how all of these real accounts not only have the same 5 channels on every account, but the 5 channels are all in the same order. It's so blatently obvious he created these accounts. wow I subscribe to both these channels(thunderfoot and HTWW) and have for some time. I agree with you completely that this is all circumstantial evidence at best that someone hired a third party to increase these accounts subscriber numbers.
However, that is as far as you can really go especially considering the political nature of the channels in question.

I saw HTWW's critique of the story of stuff and subscribed to him waiting for more critique. Instead what I found was him giving snide "us vs them" messages and chatting with TYT, who made him look meek due to the moderator not being neutral. After I decided he wasn't going to make any more videos worth my time, I unsubscribed and found this video.

Sock Accounts are a bad idea. Even if you think you're doing a good thing to help a channel it ultimately damages them as a whole. It artificially inflates lists and more importantly makes people suspicious of the channel, actually hurting it in the long run.

I created about 25 accounts and all subscribed to my favorite youtubers to help support them. a few i support are HTWW, theamazingatheist, liberalviewer. These are entertaining small timers who i want to see succeed on youtube and continue making videos for my enjoyment. I don't think its cheating, just a tool i have at my disposal.

wow I subscribe to both these channels(thunderfoot and HTWW) and have for some time. I agree with you completely that this is all circumstantial evidence at best that someone hired a third party to increase these accounts subscriber numbers.
However, that is as far as you can really go especially considering the political nature of the channels in question.
With the nature of politics it is just as reasonable that his ideological opposites did it as it was his supporters or himself .

This looks like just the kind of "persona management software" that Aaron Barr of HBGary Federal gave to hacker group Anonymous. I commented on HTWW's video where he tries to "debunk" the Fox viewers are misinformed study and pointed out he ignored several findings from it , he claimed the stimulus was a 2nd bailout for the financial industry, he discards everything the CBO said and other things.

I saw the account and it was obviously you because it was created only a couple days earlier so it could comment on the video to make me look bad. You immediately jumped on it and started spreading it but when I called you off you removed the comment.

Sock Accounts are a bad idea. Even if you think you're doing a good thing to help a channel it ultimately damages them as a whole. It artificially inflates lists and more importantly makes people suspicious of the channel, actually hurting it in the long run.

I created about 25 accounts and all subscribed to my favorite youtubers to help support them. a few i support are HTWW, theamazingatheist, liberalviewer. These are entertaining small timers who i want to see succeed on youtube and continue making videos for my enjoyment. I don't think its cheating, just a tool i have at my disposal.

I believe Youtube is owned and operated by Google Security. Oh also, go look at all of the top subscribed listings, fred, Nigahiga, etc, all have the same closed, suspended, and inactive accounts subscribed to them.

Odd that thousands of accounts would subscribe to the same 5 channels, and no other channels. I guess these thousands of supposed people all have the same interests.
And subscribing to someone and having ZERO video views? I guess these people just subscribe... for the fun of subscribing.

Concerning the inactive accounts created by BOTS ... What you tube should start doing is that is the account is inactive for so long you have to re activate the account or deleate if it hasent been used in over a year .... It really is cheating :\

I have 0 video views too, and I sure as hell know I've seen a number of videos. I can understand his suspicions, but I think Thunderfoot is wrong on this one. Its a youtube issue, not a bot issue.

nah dude its a bot issue. damn dude its hard not to get it with the way TF described it. the point is that the accounts were COMPLETELY dormant until a few weeks before this all happened. no comments (or few), no views, no favs or ratings
its also strange how ALL their info was the bare minimum. and to top it all off policytranslated HID their subs after this was exposed and all those socs made their channels private
and did you notice the mooja thing? it was douchen running his soc.

Two years ago was it very easy to cheat youtube. It was enough to have an add on for firefox to reload and reload the videopage. All todays youtubestars are from those days. I've found out: There is no one youtubestar without cheating.

I'm a little confused as to how this is a problem really. ok, suppose he is creating bots to get more subscribers for his videos... so? how does that really benefit him? if the bots don't really add anything but numbers to his accounts then how is this really to his benefit? does he get money for the # of subscribers he has? or are these bots giving thumbs down to other videos? I'm just a lil confused here.

It's the same reason why Faux News inflated the # of teabag loons at the 9/12 rallies. (they said 1 million were there, but the real number was much less)... To legitimize their organization.
How many people would show up at the anti-healthcare reform rallies if Dick Army didn't shuttle them in with 40 buses? How many books would Limbaugh and Glenn Beck sell if they weren't bought en masse and distributed for free by the wealthy corporate donors that both of them tow the line for?

1. go into your local chain bookstore, in the politics section. Glenn Beck's new book (the one w/ the red cover) is everywhere, right? How many Thom Hartmann books are there?
2. I used to subscribe to Human Events, a right-wing vehicle for mass deception (thru email), anytime Newt, Ann Cunter, Palin, etc. has a book, you can either get it for $5, or for free.
If common sense isn't enough, Google it deep enough and you'll find some good info.
