I bet you dont realise that the Sunbird up to about '88 was sold in the uk and europe as the "Opel Manta,and Vauxhall Cavalier", I had a 80 SunBird in Miami in Met Gold when I lived in the Usa.
It's normal to get white smoke (up to a few days). However, revving your engine does CONSIDERABLE damage to the insides of your engine b/c the oil hasn't had time to lube up the pistons... giggidy. Seriously, don't do that...
