@Gamefreak175 Well they trained under the same master, that´s why they have so similar moves.Oh and the main differences between them is that Ken has a more aggressive and flamboyant fighting style and a more powerful Dragon Punch and the biggest difference is appearance obviously. Actually Ken and Ryu are best friends.

@Gamefreak175 In Street Fighter 1, Ken only existed as a mirror to Ryu. If you were doing 2 player and both players picked Ryu then the second "Ryu" would be a palette swap with blonde hair instead of red, and a red gi instead of white. In the first Street Fighter 2 Ken got the redesign that we recognize today but his only real difference was that his backgrab was slightly different. Later versions changed him more i.e. a flaming shoryuken and a different tatsu that didn't knock down.

@Dannyboyyay In SF4 though, Ryu has better hadouken, shoryuken, pokes, ultra, ultra setups, focus. Ken is worse in every single way. In the latest game SF4 AE Ken is better though, shoryuken is better, more links, more pokes, more move priority, and Ryu got nerfed a lot.

@Gamefreak175 actually there is thou they trained under the same master gouken, the difference is in there special moves. ryus has mastered better the hadouken. and ken has mastered the shoryuken better and can use his hadou powers to force it to a shoryuken punch that is called in english a rising dragon fist. and ryu uses hes hadou to gather its powers to a single wave motion blast called the hadouken = wave motion punch in english. thumbs up for me if you think i know something about sf ?

@TheZiyiDude i dont know too much so people please correct me if im wrong, you can do it by pressing two punch or kick buttons instead of one, its called a EX and you can do it with not only the hadouken but also the shoryuken or hurricane kick, it does use the super bars so be aware, if on ur button layout you have the LP+MP+HP or LK+MK+HK button setup that button will do it. The LP+MP+HP or LK+MK+HK button will also do the various character ultras with a single tap.

@TheZiyiDude that is an "ex" version of the regular hadoken. Each special move move has an ex version that you can do by pressing more than one punch button, or more than one kick button. In the case of the hadoken. pressing down, forward, either punch button would do the regular one. But for the "ex" version, you would have to press down forward, and then two or more punch buttom at the same time, for example,pressing down, forward, LP+MP, would do it.

I am a Ken player myself. I like his aggressive all out style much more. he works better on the inside and has tools to operate on the inside better than Ryu does. However, Ryu is much stronger on the outside.

I disagree that ryu is the better character. Ken might be a bit of an underdog, but Ryu and Ken are two of the most equally matched characters there are in the whole game. They're both perfectly capable of defeating eachother in my opinion.

it was a good match,i say instead of ken continuously jumping, which wasnt working due to ryu's shoryuken, he shouldve spam some... after a second shoryuken at my random jumps i would've switch it up. and instead of med crouching kick to hadouken use med crouching kick to hurricane kick.. for more damage

Ken does more damage then ryu, but ryu's ultra is better to put in a combo etc. There are many advantages and disadvantages....it all comes up to the fact which one of these you can play better, they are nearly even.
