It was broken promises on Microsoft's part. They kept their word. The new OSs didn't have the old problems. They just had new ones. Lots and lots of new ones.

Windows 95 had no 'problems', 98 was simply an upgrade. Meanwhile, Mac was worthless in the 90s. A great OS with no compatibility does not make a great OS.
Windows ME/2000 was bad, but XP went strong for a whole decade, before they pulled the plug just recently.

Maybe you've read on the back of your graphicscard-box example:"1024 mb of memory wich 768 can be used" this is because the cpu, ram and gpu's drivers aren't optimized for eacother, This is because an amd cpu and an ati gpu works better together than a amd cpu and an Nvidia gpu. Apple optimizes all their hardware drivers to work specifically with eachother.

I have never had a problem on my Windows 7 PC, and after years of use, I decided to try a top of the line Macbook pro.
Guess what? I, like a others, have a Mac OS bug that brings my Quick-look helper to 198% CPU usage. I have to force quit every time. And Apple offers no support for this, unless you pay quite for something that may never be fixed.
This is a legitimate bug and Apple has not fixed it yet.
I'm just going to say that Macs are amazing.... I used to be one of those PC fanboys that said PC only Mac sucks but you know what I realized I had never used a Mac before.... My MacBook Air is by far the best computer I've ever owned. This is a PC turned Mac and I ain't ever going back!

In the past each new operating system has come with its own new set of issues, sure. But I've been using Windows seven since it's beta and haven't had a single issue with it. My computer's performance has increased ten fold, and it's much simpler to use then the Mac which I also use every day. Windows 7 trumps. Unless you bring a working copy of Linux into the matter. =P

As a Mac user, I have to say Windows 7 is impressive. Ideally I'd love to have a Windows computer as well as a Mac, but we can't all have enough money for that, so I'll stick with my MacBook Pro and console gaming for now.

alright guys.. if you are a mac user... for what u use ur MAC.. like spreadsheet or office or broswing whatever... use the same in a PC and dont use anyother software or utilites.. then tell wheather PC crashes... u guys use PC for games, work, photoshop blah blah blah... and use Mac's onlly iLife and blame PC..

i wish i had a zune. my iPod sux. first of all, it takes 12 hours to turn on. secondly, it crashes, lets say every 30 mins to be lenient. fourth of all, it makes me connect to a wifi i made it remember every 15 min. conclusion: Apple fails.

In the past each new operating system has come with its own new set of issues, sure. But I've been using Windows seven since it's beta and haven't had a single issue with it. My computer's performance has increased ten fold, and it's much simpler to use then the Mac which I also use every day. Windows 7 trumps. Unless you bring a working copy of Linux into the matter. =P

PC is right in this one. Windows 7 may be as close to perfect as Windows will ever be. IT IS BETTER THAN MAC.

@swede42 I'm not entirely sure what you mean by registry, macs need antivirus software to, and as for that last part its entirely possible because I've been using 7 for quite awhile now and I have yet to have one issue software, hardware or otherwise.

there isnt a perfect operating system, windows 7 isnt pefect but it is batter then i's predictors,

Mac are for newbs and noobs because they are SOOO afraid of the big bad viruses...

As a Mac user, I have to say Windows 7 is impressive. Ideally I'd love to have a Windows computer as well as a Mac, but we can't all have enough money for that, so I'll stick with my MacBook Pro and console gaming for now.
Although I do play TF2 on the computer.
