A turbo engine works by utilizing 2 fans one in one out. The intake is propelled by the exhaust spinning the 2nd fan. The first fan which is drawing air in. Does it at a higher and denser rate thus creating more pressure which actually excites the molecules creating a bigger explosion with less fuel. Translating into more bang for your buck. Or more milage less consumption. This is true of speeds lower than 45mph (I believe) over 45 uses slightly more. This thing is BS it's a restrictor.
That doesn't really work, that actually adds restriction to the amount of air that is going into the engine. because now the airflow has to work harder to spin the fan blades and then go into the engine. the airflow is spinning the fan at the same speed it would of gone into the engine without the fan. it doesn't increase the airflow into the engine. nice ass car though. give you props on that. if you want power though, you gotta lighten it up. those srt's already got the power just weight a lot
Whats really funny is everyone taking the video seriously and the person who mentioned Honda's/vtec's in the first place. This video is fairly funny. It gave me a chuckle. The comments are even better.
Well, you were the high speed fellow who insisted that his Civic was super awesome due to a long list of mods that add no power to a wheezy non VTec D16, which only have a chance of being fast when you add boost, like from a real turbo or super charger.
@jbrown2396 I don't fully understand your comment towards me. I never insisted that my Civic was "super awesome", it has a very short list of very insignificant mods that do not ad power, at least no more than 5 or 10 tops, and It certainly is no faster in a straight line than the average 100hp economy slammer. That said, I am still a racing enthusiast and I have a lot of interest in cars and engines. I beat Mustangs and MR2's in auto slalom... wanna see the time sheets? ASCC.com

@Fifress I think it adds about 30hp to the 2000 Accord model... at least thats what I was told. It adds 20hp to the D16 series in my model of Civic. A quick bit of research on the Honda forums reveals that a regular vtec system can add between 10 and 25 hp to stock Honda engines. 20 horse power is a fair bit when you are dealing with a light car like a Civic or CRX. Even my buddys Accord hauls in vtec. Ad some more-than-stock engine and ecu tuning and god knows how much vtec helps.
@Fifress For the record I said 30hp. So I was wrong by 5 or 10 hp... is that really A huge deal? I admit I'm not a genius but I know a few things about cars and engines. + I just heard that it was 30hp from a friend who, to be honest, is a little slow when it comes to car knowledge. I just threw out some numbers to get my point across... Why do you care anyways? I have no hands on experience with vtec systems, just what I read in manuals and on forums or hear from owners.

@MazzaFiveOneFour not only increase your down force/john force, but also prolong the life of your vehicle exponentially. 'Twas once said that a vehicles life was extended 1 month for every square inch of decal applied to your vehicle.
@marcoze Oh ok, because I know this 16 year old kid near my house shoots flames from his civic and it sounds like popcorn when he revs. It must be the decals and how well maintained his old civic is.
@MazzaFiveOneFour most likely. that, and his obvious years and years of tuning experience allow him to over jet his gas pedal for that perfect air fuel ratio. Your car is never properly tuned until final combustion happens at the tailpipe seeing as how the tailpipe pushes the car down the road.
I put 10 of those terminators on my car and it sounds like arnold schwarzenegger on steroids when I floor it. And it gave my car ten thousand horsepower
whoaaaa. incredible. does this small aparatus give 35 hp efficient power? I mean 35 hp to a 100 hp car and 35 hp to a 500 hp car? if yes I'll divide the exhaust system to 4. so I'll be able to use 4turbonators at the same time. 140 hp clean power.
wowowoooowww. I'll make my own 5000 hp drag car. turbonators everywhere.
People need to realize they are joking... Turbonator is a piece of crap and doesn't do anything for horsepower.. hell i might recommend it by having it ON the muffler just for looks.
@gattler lmfao putting on the muffler would only have the exact same effect as putting on the intake, just slow the flow lol. The best place for the turbonator is the garbage pal. lol
wow you guys are idiots. these go in the air intake. they dont even work. they block airflow. they are not turbo chargers. they dont do anything but REDUCE horsepower. research before you get scammed again...
@lethalphoenix lol you are very ignorant I see. go on hating I won't say anything. if I see you on the street I'll let my "slow" civic do the taking. lol at whoever said this was a civic though
The vtec was designed for fuel efficiency, using the small cam lobes to increase fuel efficiency under regular driving conditions and the larger ones for the benefit of an extra 30+horse power when you need it at the expense of higher fuel consumption.
@DevonatorMetalMaster Wrong actually, the first hemispherical combustion chamber engine was by the "Pipe" company at the turn of the century in Belgium.
@DevonatorMetalMaster Actually that information came from a very well written set of automotive encyclopedias from the early 70s, which focused on vehicles and companies from the turn of the century.
@MannyFresh1x Honda using Ferrari shit aint all that bad. Thats like Dodge using Lambo V10's for the Viper. However, I have researched vtec in the past and found that it was invented in Japan by Honda engineers. Whether or not the engineers had worked on Ferrari in the past I don't know, but the vtec system was developed for Honda by Honda.
Yeah im mad that fuck retards that drive ordinary hondas think they are fast when infact that huge ass spoiler, those amount of stickers, being lowered and swerving in and out of traffic does nothing but make you look like a RICER. GTFO ->
@lethalphoenix My 98 Civic Hatch is mostly stock. 1.6 non vtec, Full racing exhaust and 4-2-1 header (soon to be changed to just regular exhaust with si header and 09 Civic muffler.) A heavier shift knob, short shift lever, lighter BMW aluminum rims, NGK iridium plugs, short arm Ractive cold air intake in the summer, Civic EK9 (Type R) lip, Acura EL cluster, and black housing headlights. It has a few stickers. One is the name of my local track across my rear window.
L O L at you Sir. You define " RICE " Lets see...from all the shit you posted, I only see two " mods " which is the header and intake. LOL, NGK PLUGS! SO MUCH POWER! I need to share this with my other people in the forums. theyll be laughing soon.
@lethalphoenix I do not define rice. Hondas are supposed to have NGK plugs. It's whats recommended to be used... How is that rice? Yes there are only a few mods which is why I said my car is MOSTLY STOCK.
@lethalphoenix I'm on the "forums". I auto slalom my car. It will be track ready by next season. Full Teg brake swap and gutted interior, EBC pads + this exhaust system I have been talking about. I'll be getting a lapping license as well. So_Not_JDM is my screen name...even though my car is JDM as fuck.
@lethalphoenix I guarantee a ricer would not start from the ground up ie breaks, venting, weight reduction, safety equipment. A typical ricer will attack (quite literally) the body and engine first.
@lethalphoenix I even swapped out my cold air for the Canadian winter and changed to the recommended winter oil as mentioned in the owners manual. Is that shit considered rice?
@@lethalphoenix I'll also be investing in a set of Track tires, strut tower bracing, smaller "racing" steering wheel, tow hooks(because I'm still a beginner! and even the best go off track sometime), racing grade brake fluid and probably a performance seat with a 5 or 6 point harness(because the stock ones don't hold my ass in place) I'll try EBC yellow Stuff pads on the stock Civ breaks before I go Teg. That plus the interior and exhaust I mentioned... Should be a decent ride.
@lethalphoenix Hopefully I wont have to build an oil cooler. The temperatures don't get too high here in Atlantic Canada. I have all the vents opened up in the grille, under the bumper has a scoop to cool the pan and I prop the back of the hood on race days for extra cooling. On that topic I also remove the dust shields off the breaks for better cooling. 2 laps on our track, brake fluid boils and stock pads turn to dust.
Hi Guy, Cool Video, and love the sound, but I cant figure it, is the terminator helping to make the deep roar off the engine ?, Would my old merc 190 sound like that with one installed at the air intake ?
@fuelban The Turbonator has absolutely NOTHING to do with the sound...as you can tell when he removed it from the exhaust. That has more to do with the exhaust system...exhaust manifold, mufflers, etc. I personally place no faith in these gizmos whatsoever...and 35hp??? Yeah, they are smoking the good stuff to think that they would get anything resembling THAT! LOL!!
@fuelban these things wont do anything to your car mate, they are just cheap bits of 'magic' plastic which people make thousands from, if you want a nice sound to your car id slap a decent induction kit (pipercross, powertec, r-power) dont buy K&N though, they are bollocks and you lose power rather than gain it, after a decent induction kit, get a straight through, de-cat exhaust system, after this you will have a nice sound to your car.
@fuelban or if your the type of person that doesnt like spending money, go out to the shed, grab a screwdriver and ram it through the back box a few times lol
@LedZepp42O Yeh I Know it now, "But I think that's what confused me at the time", I couldn't figure out what they were supposed to do... does that make sense !!! LOL..

@mxrc703
A CIVIC? Did you see the car's rear? its a CHARGER V8 unlike you and your POS's CIVICs that NEED VTEC TO Win a RACE otherwise youll CRY LIKE A BITCH.
lethalphoenix 2 months ago
@lethalphoenix You do realize most cars have a variable valve timing system or something that essentially reaches the same end, right?
Carflaag 2 months ago
@lethalphoenix lol you are very ignorant I see. go on hating I won't say anything. if I see you on the street I'll let my "slow" civic do the taking. lol at whoever said this was a civic though

The vtec was designed for fuel efficiency, using the small cam lobes to increase fuel efficiency under regular driving conditions and the larger ones for the benefit of an extra 30+horse power when you need it at the expense of higher fuel consumption.
DevonatorMetalMaster 2 months ago

DevonatorMetalMaster 2 months ago
@DevonatorMetalMaster
Yeah im mad that fuck retards that drive ordinary hondas think they are fast when infact that huge ass spoiler, those amount of stickers, being lowered and swerving in and out of traffic does nothing but make you look like a RICER. GTFO ->
lethalphoenix 2 months ago
@lethalphoenix My 98 Civic Hatch is mostly stock. 1.6 non vtec, Full racing exhaust and 4-2-1 header (soon to be changed to just regular exhaust with si header and 09 Civic muffler.) A heavier shift knob, short shift lever, lighter BMW aluminum rims, NGK iridium plugs, short arm Ractive cold air intake in the summer, Civic EK9 (Type R) lip, Acura EL cluster, and black housing headlights. It has a few stickers. One is the name of my local track across my rear window.
DevonatorMetalMaster 2 months ago
@DevonatorMetalMaster
L O L at you Sir. You define " RICE " Lets see...from all the shit you posted, I only see two " mods " which is the header and intake. LOL, NGK PLUGS! SO MUCH POWER! I need to share this with my other people in the forums. theyll be laughing soon.
lethalphoenix 2 months ago
@lethalphoenix I do not define rice. Hondas are supposed to have NGK plugs. It's whats recommended to be used... How is that rice? Yes there are only a few mods which is why I said my car is MOSTLY STOCK.
DevonatorMetalMaster 2 months ago
@lethalphoenix I'm on the "forums". I auto slalom my car. It will be track ready by next season. Full Teg brake swap and gutted interior, EBC pads + this exhaust system I have been talking about. I'll be getting a lapping license as well. So_Not_JDM is my screen name...even though my car is JDM as fuck.
DevonatorMetalMaster 2 months ago
@lethalphoenix I guarantee a ricer would not start from the ground up ie breaks, venting, weight reduction, safety equipment. A typical ricer will attack (quite literally) the body and engine first.
DevonatorMetalMaster 2 months ago
@lethalphoenix I even swapped out my cold air for the Canadian winter and changed to the recommended winter oil as mentioned in the owners manual. Is that shit considered rice?
DevonatorMetalMaster 2 months ago
@@lethalphoenix I'll also be investing in a set of Track tires, strut tower bracing, smaller "racing" steering wheel, tow hooks(because I'm still a beginner! and even the best go off track sometime), racing grade brake fluid and probably a performance seat with a 5 or 6 point harness(because the stock ones don't hold my ass in place) I'll try EBC yellow Stuff pads on the stock Civ breaks before I go Teg. That plus the interior and exhaust I mentioned... Should be a decent ride.
DevonatorMetalMaster 2 months ago
@lethalphoenix Hopefully I wont have to build an oil cooler. The temperatures don't get too high here in Atlantic Canada. I have all the vents opened up in the grille, under the bumper has a scoop to cool the pan and I prop the back of the hood on race days for extra cooling. On that topic I also remove the dust shields off the breaks for better cooling. 2 laps on our track, brake fluid boils and stock pads turn to dust.

the turbonator is made to go
in the intake.

Hi Guy, Cool Video, and love the sound, but I cant figure it, is the terminator helping to make the deep roar off the engine ?, Would my old merc 190 sound like that with one installed at the air intake ?
thanks guy.
Thom in Scotland.
fuelban 8 months ago
@fuelban The Turbonator has absolutely NOTHING to do with the sound...as you can tell when he removed it from the exhaust. That has more to do with the exhaust system...exhaust manifold, mufflers, etc. I personally place no faith in these gizmos whatsoever...and 35hp??? Yeah, they are smoking the good stuff to think that they would get anything resembling THAT! LOL!!
mydejavooo1 8 months ago
@fuelban these things wont do anything to your car mate, they are just cheap bits of 'magic' plastic which people make thousands from, if you want a nice sound to your car id slap a decent induction kit (pipercross, powertec, r-power) dont buy K&N though, they are bollocks and you lose power rather than gain it, after a decent induction kit, get a straight through, de-cat exhaust system, after this you will have a nice sound to your car.

@fuelban or if your the type of person that doesnt like spending money, go out to the shed, grab a screwdriver and ram it through the back box a few times lol
