  • your drums are very loud

  • So did we ever figure out that rhythm? :P

  • Ironic that for a song called "Typical," that fill was anything BUT... I saw what that annotation did there...

  • 2:30 - 2:34 left hand engage!!! haha

  • are these guys math rock?

  • @awesomeman No, they're more alternative rock than anything else.

  • DL the audio from this song at thetunify doht cohm.

  • I know what it's called in music terms: Randomness!

  • 4:20

    That is NUMERO 600

    Way to use your spanish

    then said yoink WAY AFTER.

    lolol jk nice fc

    and really

    WTF ARE THOSE NOTES?

  • My very experienced drummer friend says: "They're straight 32nd notes but you're accenting on the right hand on the 1 of the beat, the (a) of the beat, and then the next one, you're accenting on the + of the beat, and then you're on the (e) of the beat, and then you're back on the 4 and the +. The tab that they're showing you isn't right. It IS 32nd notes. There's no name for it. (Hope this helps.)

  • Wow... drumming in reality is NOTHING like that. haha

  • @Paintballguru92 wrong. wrong.bet you dont even play drums. wrong kid.

  • @Iinemanz I've played drums for over 10 years. Nice try thoough "KID"

  • @Paintballguru9 Then you've never played rock band drums. Kid. I know for a fact that you haven't played both rock band drums and real drums. My bet is still real drums. You can say anything you want on the internet. Like 'I have a million dollars' Just because you say something doesn't make it true. So either way you're a pathological liar who has no idea what he's talking about. Kid.

  • @Iinemanz Think you should dedicate your time to something better than talking shit to me over the internet buddy. If you want a drum-off come to me :)

  • @Paintballguru92 ITS ON.

  • @Paintballguru92

lol. you're wrong man. are you even a real drummer to comment? i mean look at his sticking and bounce on the pads..

  • @Ch4otiX I have 10 years of experience on the drums. Thank you very much.

  • @Paintballguru92

& i have 10 years of experience in singing "Never Gonna Give You Up". :D

  • @Morethanl1f3 Not that he doesn't play real drums, but that doesn't mean anything.

  • OMG hes using a snare stand on his green THAT MEANS HE EITHER BOUGHT IT CUZ HE NEEDED IT OR HE HAS REAL DRUMS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Never played Rockband. never played drums. But this is fucking awesome

  • Squeeze = "we dun need no stinkin notes!"

  • Damm good my friend... Represent..

  • please tell me you know how to play a real drum kit

  • @lbomb8 yea he does he has been playing for 22 years haha

  • @playwithme30 thank shit...lol

  • @lbomb8 haha and if your wondering he has been in many bands haha

  • The beginning of the measure does 12 notes (excluding the bass pedal) in a beat and a half. The second red hit after the yellow (note 8) is on beat 2, and it goes into 32nds to the green. So beat 1 has G-R-R-R-R-Y-R (7 notes w/o kick pedal), so the best way to put it is a 7-over one beat, (you'd use 32nd notes in notating this) then 32nd notes straight. Baffling, but it's do-able.

  • How do you get those types of drums??? Plz respond back

  • @comedycutie98 buy them

  • @malcolmgetscrazy no but I mean where at

  • @comedycutie98 the internet

  • My current best guess, when counting in 32nd notes, goes something like: Green, rest, Red, rest, Red, rest, rest, Red, rest, Red, rest, rest, Yellow. Of course, this is completely shot down if the last red is ON the beat (I can't tell if it is or not from the video or the chart)

  • lol that was awesome

  • You should try doing FC's on Green Day Rock Band like Homecoming,Chump, and Welcome to Paradise

  • you play on the xbox 360, right?

  • what is that kit called that ur using?

  • @Makenkagua thats an ion drum kit

  • nice bro!! nice

  • hey lee how good are u at double bass. if ur good make a video showing us because i wanna see. thanks : )

  • why are you using a snare stand on your green pad??

  • ...did you ever figure out that rhythm?

  • the fill at 1:02 was epic :D

  • ur insane! and awesome! lol..good job.. :P

  • hey lee you are amazing

  • Wow! totally awesome!

  • @riffraff11235 i'm just gonna say that you're gay and i think ill just leave it at that...sound good?

  • very good job!!!

  • possibly a syncopated duplet of sorts?

  • @EternalKejak What I was thinking.

  • you're like 80 years old playing GuitarHero...thats pretty sad btw MUTEMATH's the best and not your "typical" band, they have a different and unique style compared to all the other bands out there. Give them a shot with some of their other songs

  • @ssaballos11 i'm just gonna say "retard" and leave it at that...

  • @ssaballos11 wtf man? the song is called typical, he's not 80, so what the hell are you ranting on about?!

  • Probably just hyperactive charting. Making it too realistic.

  • those notes at 74 are: "dotted sixteenth note triplets"

they are really hard to explain

  • @pdpman99 dotted triplets? lol ftw!

  • @pdpman99 dotted sixteenth note triplets = sixteenth notes. If dotted notes are worth 3/2 of a note, and triplets are worth 2/3 of a note, they cancel each other out ; )

  • i know why you were mysitfied. cuz the guy that plays this song is like the best drummer in the world

  • Agreed

  • .....right and lars ulrich, mike portnoy, neil pert just blow

  • HAHAHAHA OMG you honestly just put Lars Ulrich in the same league as Neil Pert... please tell me there is some other drummer named Lars Ulrich besides the one from Metallica

  • what the hell is ur problem asshole lars is a great drummer, i wasnt saying neil is worse than lars i just said this drummers doesnt compair to them dipshit, so before u go and talk shit at least read wat i said, dick nose

  • my problem is you said Lars Ulrich is a "great drummer" thats just horrible to say.. he has the skill of a tone def monkey... anyone can do what lars well except look as douchy as he does playing the drums...

  • says the faggot that likes the white stripes and the killers meg white is such a bad drummer she can suck a dick better than play drums asshole go die somewhere

  • ...and neither of you can spell Neil Peart correctly. Congrats, you're both incredible.

  • @jepmakesmusic

yea and u dont play real drums but fake plastic ones. congrats

  • And the 2 are completely different. Maybe he plays real drums, maybe he doesn't want to. Who are you to tell him what he should/shouldn't enjoy doing?

  • Cuzz672 has a point, He's a strong drummer, but honestly... nothing to neil or portnoy

  • @bbunn91 Lol nahhhhhh

  • i would say it's similar to a five stroke roll... ok u mean the fill the snare drum does right?

  • ah.. the payoff of experience. well done.

  • Congratulations on 600 Expert Drum FC's, that's really quite incredible.

  • How did you get this chart man??

  • I dont even know what that is and i play quads lmao

  • Comment removed

  • is your green pad on a stand?

  • @pajamaloaf yes its on a snare star or it may be a stand for bells either way its a stand for an instrument in precussion

  • That "Thing" at 3:03 is almost a triplet paradiddle, just one note is hitting. People would think it is a sixth but count them.

    Now you know

  • Whoops i meant Hitting means Missing

    Hitting = missing

    Sorry

  • Comment removed

  • Dude your a freakin beast!!!!

    god bless you

  • Syncopation? Lol. That Drum Beat Is Priceless.

  • Its just studying the rythm. First see the hype and then the drummer part. Then apply both. Still its hard ;)

  • dude. I really couldn't tell you what the hell that is at 3:03 I mean, thats darren king! he's freaking phsyco when it comes to drumming.

  • Fivelets maybe?

  • @PaRaMoRxfreak1413

Congratulations, youre retarded. You just went on a video you don't even like to watch just to flame him when he did nothing when you didn't bother to notice that he not only plays, but teaches real drums as well. and I bet you won't reply to this because you know I'm right.

  • at 3:03, those notes are sixes (two triplets shoved together) If you listen to the music, when he hits the high hat, it sounds like triplets but its not quite, just the triplet feel that the sixes bring.

  • wow fun song to play on drums

  • Wow that was cool. I'd like to mute the music and Just hear the clicks, even that sounds cool. Man this song is the shit!

  • maybe it's some really fast triplets.

    -mute math fan

  • i checked up the 74th measure of this song... i'm thinking about it and i am wondering if it is possible of being, what in italian we say "sestine" which are the double of triplets or maybe a goddamn 9/4 but i dunno LoL

  • too all of u that complains.. shut the fuck up and get a life youre selves! what kind of life do u have when u watch videos on youtube all day long and talk shit about ppl u dont even know.. morons... jealous bastards

  • Just play the real song on real drums.

  • @swlilbrior112. oh sry dude i forgot about those technicalities...of course!!!!! and yeah its impressive dude but you think jay lenos gona call him up cuz hes the best at rock band? yeah just be quiet. dork.

  • pretty badass

  • is this on the 1st Rockband?

  • its DLC u nub

  • calm down hes just askin a damn question

  • @bengalsfan911 he meant that's his 600th fc, which is very impressive, i don't think he lives with his parents, he's one of the best in the world at something... just be quiet.

  • I think this guy is jealous of IBite...

  • yeah cuz everyone knows what ibite is....what the hell is that

  • @bengalsfan911 Epic fucking fail.

  • wat fc mean?

  • full combo means you 100% without an overhit

  • You are awesome seriously, really nice freestyle sticks too

  • Finally FCed this the other night haha, kept choking on the seccond GO RR GO RR section.

  • anyone knows something about that padmod? whats it and how to get it? xD

And why do you have something like ehm.. a stand? for the red and the green pad

  • I am not quite sure, but I believe that they are '6th notes' or triplets of eighth notes.

  • Can someone transpose the computer chart to a real score? I'm dying to play this on a real kit.

  • I'm handwriting it by myself, once I'm done I'll post here again :].

  • wild guess, but I think they are quintuplets. like a triple would be three notes, so a quintuplet is five.

  • uhh maybe for 74th measure or w/e looks like six-tupplets

  • Wow very nice :P

    Good song, as well ^^

  • ion or goodwood what is better?

  • Goodwoods.

  • nope...ions

  • it depends.....goodwoods are pads you put over your existing drums and ions are completely new set of drums so if your old set is busted or cracked you should get ions but if you care about not just looks you should get goodwoods which have better rebound but the drum heads are a bit smaller than the ions. I personally have the ions and i think there fine.

  • this is probably my favorite rock band video. not bad. not bad at all

  • The pads he is using are made out of mylar, a stronger head that's louder than the rubber stock ION kit.

  • pick up a real instrument and live in reality

  • well very impressive

  • dude why are you playing the song on your ipod instead of the game

  • that's not an ipod. one set of headphones is hooked to the tv's audio. the other, for the video.

  • yea that section is stupidly portrayed on the game it should be 32nd notes but it starts off as 32nd and then there is a set of quintuplets before the next cymbal hit. honestly I think the guy who wrote out that bar should get shot.

  • Honestly, the amount of time kids put effort into games today, they could fucking learn a real instrument lmao

I'm 17 btw and I play the drums.

  • dude you're still a kid....

  • news flash dude, RB drums are quite similar to the real drums, I switched over to the real thing months ago, and aside from the hi-hat pedal I could play it

  • News flash, i know they're quite similar. Still, people have difficulty or have no technique what so ever and can't play the real drums for shit

  • Those people are called the musically retarded, they are discluded from any arguements pertaining to life, especially on an Ibite thread, if I remember correctly, he's been playing the drums since before you crawled out of the uterus

  • also theres the fact your a year older then me, therefore still a kid, and Ibite's what, 30? so it baffles me what your trying to say here,

Sounds to me your trying to be a condescending jackass to be honest

  • Condescending jackass? Yeah I guess. Cause personally I feel this generation is talentless, lifeless, and just mediocre at best. It's generic for the most part and it's disgusting.

  • well congratulations for being a part of it, and oh, yes you are, I agree with you, but your still part of it, no feigning maturity will change that

  • lmfao. Part of it? Okay buddy. I guess being a year younger, not knowing anything about me and just basing all your info on a YouTube post, which I have no clue this guy can play a REAL drum kit,let alone a RockBand kit.

  • Your deny facts now, you being 17, and literally and figuratively part of this generation, it doesn't matter what I do and don't know,

Your posts are a reflection of who you are and what you think, a window into your soul if you will, based on that information, i've deduced your an overgrown child who believes to be unaverage of this geneation and therefore considers himself a cut above, in a way, I share that opinion, but you go about it the wrong way, and end up looking like a tool,

  • Alright. So through your Confuscious mannerisms, you see how I feel and yeah, I do feel a cut above. So, lemme ask you how do I go about it the wrong way then.

  • because your 17, your not a cut above, you are, in a way, but your age, just as mine brings you down, rejecting that is part of what makes your age obvious, and is part of the overall problem, "kids these days" replaced with "kids my age" and other things that make it obvious your age and that your a step above mentally, saying "kids these days" and attacking your own generation, then when its revealed you are part of it, invalidates your entire arguement

  • I didn't understand the second part of your post, it seemed kinda blurted out,

I believe my friend mentioned he's been playing for about 20 years, and teaches jazz drumming, if i'm not mistaken

  • You know what. Don't take this the wrong way. Suck my dick. I know what i am. And I know what I do, and I don't need anyone else telling me otherwise. I am an overgrown child, and deep down I will always be one. I mean, I will mature and go about things different ways, but yeah, your right I shouldn't go about it "this" way but I know which way. Thanks kiddo.

  • Do what you want, but in my advice, consider your words, miniscule observations will completely change the impact of everything you say

  • Well thank you mom.

So you play drums? I mean I'll assume you do, atleast from your other post, but what do you listen to?

  • I take certain bands from almost everything, theres no certain genre I stick too,

And I'm not amazing, but I can work my way around a kit,

  • Well name some shit. I don't listen one thing either but lay some bands down or artists or whatever.

    How long you playn anyway?

  • Not too long, on and off for a year, I originally pick up the guitar but didn't get into it, I picked up a kick, recently i've gone back to the guitar and have been focusing on that more tho,

Everything from Metallica to Green Day (yes, even the new stuff, I like the rock opera semi-concept album idea, they pull it off better then most) to Marilyn Manson to Bowling For Soup, theres just too much to provide examples, =P hell I even like some Simon and Garfunkel and other shit like that

  • Well that's cool to hear. Yeah, I guess we all like to think were all a little special and bring something special to the plate. Personally, first glance, you come off as someone who thinks they know it all and talks to people in a condescending manor, meanwhile, who are you in the big scheme of things? I mean that's how I see it but you know, you seem pretty chill too, so I guess the good evens out the bad in this case.

  • I do, its something i'm attempting to change, after all, doing so negates attempts to make my point, the overall goal, not necessarily to change their minds, but give them information or a different viewpoint or opinion, people often conscrew that as something else, causing an arguement

In short, misinformation is a bitch

  • Periods and semi-colons aren't such bad things, bud.

  • having perfect grammar on a Youtube video is borderline OCD, no thanks...

  • Sorry for the long notes. I tried to keep it as succinct as I could. :D But that should be an accurate break-down of beat one in the measure.

  • ...four 64th notes (since four 64th notes take the space of one sixteenth note -- not to be confused with a 32nd note, which takes two to fill the space of a 16th note) the yellow pad would be a sixteenth note, and the two last red pads would be two thirty-second notes. If you'd like, I could send you a more detailed break-down of the measure in question, possibly even able to send you how it would look on music notation paper.

  • ...but it doesn't seem that they are, watching you play. Comparing it to the computer note chart, you have these seven notes: Green, four red, yellow, red. The four red pads are played faster than the other three pads. So instead of a true septuplet, what you actually have is a complicated rhythm. If you split the beat up into four parts (commonly vocalized as 1-e-and-a), then you have the following rhythm: The green pad is a sixteenth note, the four red pads would actually be...

  • If I'm reading the computer chart correctly, in measure 74 you do have a septuplet. To give you a better idea of what this means, the song is in 4/4. In a 4/4 measure, you can fit two eighth notes or four sixteenth notes in the space of one beat. In a septuplet, you are fitting seven notes in the space of one beat, rather than two or four notes. Ideally, the seven notes should be evenly spaced throughout the beat to be a true septuplet...

  • 3:21 Beast fill o.o

  • perfecto

  • Jeez, they are pretty randomly placed :S

A bit like The Trooper's trills, they seem pretty random too, but I think that's quintuplets. Still pretty awkward.

  • those notes are septuplets

my moms a music teacher and i showed this to her

  • i think that the notes there are septuplet-triplets. My case and

point being that they're seven notes squeezed into the space of a sixteenth note triplet. I'm not sure on the actual term, but I'm fairly sure that that's what they are.

  • I love mutemath :D

  • how am i gonna make headphones stretch from my tv to my ears

  • AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • how do you use headphones, please someone tell me

  • Put it through your tv.

  • Very nice!

  • they look like partials of a sixtuplet to me, since the measure is a 4/4 measure, maybe some 16th triplets, either that or some 9s

  • why is his green padon a stand?

  • i am guessing he got a new rack(since the original ion rack sucked) that cant support all the pads, so he just got a stand instead of a whole new rack. correct me if I'm wrong.

  • He is using the ION rack, but the rack couldn't properly support and stop vibrations on his pads and his green was double hitting as a result. So he put it on the Snare stand to isolate it from the vibrations.

  • or a fragment of septuplets perhaps.

  • I didnt look very closly at the section you were talking about, but an educated guess would be that they were quintuplets or a variation upon. that is the only rhythm i can think of that wouldnt fall in the category of triplets, 16th, 32nd, or a mixture there of.

  • can someone explain how a squeeze works? I rock band drum expert and i know it is the reason 1st place doesn't have the same score as everyone else who fc's and uses the same path, but... what is it?

  • When you squeeze an activation, you trick the gamemind by hitting the green note at the end of fills a fraction of a second early. By doing this, the green note it originally covered is not covered anymore giving you a quick chance to hit it for extra points.

  • Might be some kind of polyrythym.. idk, just tossing it in there :P

  • do you even know what a polyrhythm is?

  • One rhythm played over a different, like 4/4 over a 6/8 signature. i.e. Bleed by Meshuggah

  • heh, 2 FTW'S here, first, Earl Stephens Jr. FTW

    and The Manor FTW

  • Hmm I did some maths with the chart and this is giving me 48th notes.

You should ask Barfo for this to be more clear.
