  • cool....

  • Good job!

  • good job!

is the whole thing powered with only the phone, or is the usb also supplying power from the IOIO and thus an external battery? the white thing on the tank looks like a battery pack. since the IOIO has usb-host capability, that means power will be drawn from the board?

  • @hehegirl It uses the RC tank's original battery pack to power the IOIO. The white thing is the underside of the upturned breadboard into which the IOIO and motor driver are plugged.

  • @cle0medes i was talking about the other white thing, but i guess that may be the motor, hahaha

do you mind telling me the capacity of the battery pack and how long it can run for with everything you have in place now? i only see the voltage on your website and i am guessing wifi drains a lot of power?

    thanks!

  • @hehegirl Battery pack is 1Ah NiCd. I've not tried running it continuously for long wnough to find out how long it lasts. The motors are by far the biggest power drain, though. The phone has its own battery and it should be able to last for several hours.

  • @cle0medes thanks!

  • very cool!
