Good to see the Irish practicing their true culture here for a change instead of hi-jacking other nations cultures like Scotland's for one.
The Irish should contribute a bit more towards their true character and national identity...The flute playing, Gold seeking Leprechaun.
Perhaps we can work in conjuction with everyone to help them realise true Irish culture this time and not repeat the early 1900's republicanism movement nonsense where they adopted Scottish identity.
@TheFatalInstinct1 What the fuck are you talking about. According to the UN, Ireland is one of the ten nations where religion is in danger of dying out. You Scots dont even have a language, whats your culture. No language, no religion, no law, no sports, no music to call your own, no community.
@scientific1982 The fuck you on about more like, you are the Irish hi-jacker here, Irish myth makers like W.H. Grattan Flood in 1911 invented Irish history and scorned on Scottish culture, yet he re-brandished what was Scottish to Irish to give the Irish some kind of pedigree that it never had during it's nationalist republican movement.
Historical revisionists like Henry Sarks and Flood are who you have to thank for butchering Irish history and airbrushing what was truly Irish out of history.
@TheFatalInstinct1 You know since we all began with one culture, you could say that we've all just been borrowing and improving on the same culture. Also, would you consider the Japanese and Ancient Pueblo People to be "hi-jacking" Scotland's culture simply because they play the flute? Finally, Scottish and Irish people both come from the Celtic culture so due to their recent common origin, they would have a lot of similarities in their cultures.
ok, its funny, but, given how we were portrayed the brits in the 18 and 19 hundreds I would be kinda pissed off if I found out the idea came from an English bloke (or gal!).
Haha, Rachel Madsow just referred to this video as "super racist". She (he?) was in full-on smear mode against NY GOP gubernatorial primary winner Carl Paladino.
And similar to how Olbermann apologized on behalf of the GOP during their 2008 convention for "exploiting 9/11", she sought fit to apologize for Paladino.
Funny stuff, these uppity (and deeply troubled) libs and their furrowed brows.
who ever is fighting over this video.. its a joke take it easy.. even if the monkeys are being portrayed as Irish i dont care :L im Irish and i think its funny
I don't think this as anything to do with humans - unless you watch it in the psychotic, delusional way that is elicited by PC thinking.
PC is a term created in the Soviet Union. 'Political correctness' was always a way to divide and rule: "make them offended at each other, for any pathetic little thing that comes by, and they'll always be at each others' throats, witless to the real threat to their existence, the authorities".
people say its offensive but how???its only monkeys.i call people monkeys and the call me racist id be like wtf?in ireland monkey means monkey but to the rest of the world its what ya call a black person so i think every1 needs to stop the racism and fuff off
Black people have curly hair so I do not think its African, Niger Val Dubh the once ruler of ERIN(Ireland) didnt look like the chimps in this video, so everyone should fuff off.
Damn, I am impressed. This reminds me of political correctness which is when a liberal media makes and insane attempt to convince a delusional public that you can pick up a turd by the clean end.
This is not racism, this pure fun and Irish people have a great sense of humor, more people should lighten up and have a good laugh. Whats left for us after the way our governments have behaved and squandered all our money, only humor.
History unravelled! Another glorious discovery made by the Irish lmao also watch Family Guy's Irish discovery of alcohol it's true. I'm joking by the way.
right you are fnord321. and robertsmelt, saying that a people is uncivilized is a biased remark. just because you didn't grow up there and its not a corporate society doesn't make it uncivilized. I'm not sure if this is aimed at us blacks but I can see how it could be taken that way. But also people, chimpanzees live in Africa. So you're right in that sense not to take offense but people should still be sensitive.
Anyone who sees racism in this is a moron. If you find racism through some contorted argument you are proving your own bigoted thought process, not any motive on the part of someone who is merely creating a joke. If you want something to debate, how about the fact that Africa is known as the cradle of civilisation and yet manages to be the least civilised continent on the planet. Enjoy a joke for what it is or make some contribution to an intelligent debate.
Only a moron would think there was any racism in the joke. All it implies is that the chimps picked up the dance from the Irish. Could just as well have had chimps walking round with bowler hats and umbrellas. Dumb people always manage to twist the simplest of things.
eh firstly they picked the irish since the monkeys are irish dancing, secondly if it insults anyone its africans the title says proof irish discovered africa. the video implies the irish took the dance from africa so its kinda callin africans monkeys.
How fab are they dont want to believe it is animated. Wanted to get on the stage and join them it must be the Irish in me coming out. Maiden name Flaherty.
My brother emailed me this. We are of Irish blood and both of us had to pick ourselves up off the floor from laughing so hard. This is one of the funniest things I've ever seen in my life, and anyone who takes offense needs to get a life.
I launched this link (great by the way!) in a Dutch mailgroup and we are wondering how this is done. Are the kids dressed as monkeys or is it a clever animation?
its fake but partly real. the top half of the monkeys are real (waist up). legs are animation. they film the monkey for about 3 seconds then keep repeating it over and over again. you can tell they do something, then the image changes and they do it again.
Omg, so much stuff coming off from a funny video, im Irish and I think it's comedy, unclench and have a laugh
