  • Santos' plan did have a public option, he clearly showed that in the debate episode in season 7.

  • Bartlet had a Republican House and Senate all 8 years of his presidency. At least in the first 2 years of his Presidency , Santos had a Republican Senate. As we've seen in real life, Republicans won't even vote for a watered-down health care plan.

  • The best line is Josh and Santos talking about Santos' plan to mortgage his house to raise funds if he lost California. Josh said that if they lost, he would have sold his OWN house to help the campaign. Santos told Josh that it would be illegal, that Josh could've gone to prison. Josh said "Well, I gotta live somewhere."

  • I'll bet Santos's healthcare plan has a public option.

  • @october4891647 I bet the Congress in Santosland would pass a healthcare plan with a public option

  • @filegirl Thank God they didn't.

We can't afford the one that was passed.

How do you think they would be able to fund a healthcare plan with a public option and don't tell me by increasing taxes as any increase in revenue the government would have has already been spent.

  • @october4891647 I don't know if you are familiar with all the characters on The West Wing, but real life is often better than TV fantasy, because I'll bet you Obama's healthcare plan is better than Bartlet's non-existant one.
