LOL no it isn't. the oud was around way before the turks were even in anatolia. it was made by persians and played by armenians and persians then the arabs borrowed it and modified it. the turks had nothing to do with making the oud.
lovey lovely music could learn from this guys, will u check me out on youtube maryann power love ad music 225 blowing in the wind? TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK AS I NEED AS MUCH HELP AS I CAN GET?
sorry but you mistaken, im with you is culture and not to do with islam or religion,..
but if this instrument is Turkish, that not true, this instrument is Arabic Andalusian(اندلس), the Turkish have some thing similar to the arabic oud and come hundred of years after the arabic already have, the Turkish oud have longer nick and they call it basoky or something like this, even the greek have the same as the Turkish oud and also they call it basoky..,the oud is a round 700 years old..
you re right its arabic, its same in turks too. its called "ud" in turkish and turks took it when Ottoman Empire existed. it means 700 year ago like you said. so its similary same tıme as arabian. The "basoky" is patent exploiting of greece, they took "ud" and made it "basoky" (like turkish cofee:greek cofee ,baklava, rakı:raki, döner:yuro(or sth like it) hellim:halloumi and lot of things) actually we share the same cultre but greeks taking patent so thats rude.
ya its a very popular instrument in kuwait too, we also call it oud. many other countries in the gulf call it oud..i don't think it has another name???
Gosh! Why would anyone hate you for such brilliant playing? I pretend to play the violin, was looking for the Godfather theme and found your video! Have viewed it thrice already :D Really very good!
man you are realy good, this is now on my faves... one of my deams was to play oud, but it is very herd when you living in the west and there is no one to teach you.
you should do that more often, i would realy love to her some braveheart sound tracks themes by your oud.. please dont disappoint me :)
Hello GoldenFlither15, I'm not from the Middle East but I do love the music from that area of the world. I'm actually American, I think I was born in the wrong country. haha. I listen to Oum Kolthoum, Fairuz, Asmahan and others. I visited Tunisia last year and met some wonderful people. أنا حقا احب هذه الموسيقى. شكرا
well done brother...absolutely awsome arrangement. I used to play the oud for a long time so I can appreciate this more than most. I love the creativity that you've put into such a well known piece...your passion comes through in your playing. Take care mate...Raj
Now, I'm no expert on the oud, but I've never seen an oud player play chords before... I realize that it is probably because I play Greek and Turkish music and the oud players don't play chords. I'm just wondering the way you tune your oud and the type of music you play
LOOL.....so MYMUSIC.....was "his dig" the only thing caught your attention in this whole clip !?!?.....besides, this clip is about "OUD", not "digs" nor "faces" :). Well, I guess as they say, people tend to see only what they want to see :)

One of the most popluar tunings of the Arabic oud (used in this clip) is: F A D G C (bass to treble; top to bottom strings).
